Went for Valentine’s dinner and it was such a vibe – cozy and romantic. We started with the oxtail ravioli (so good) and had the Moroccan Spiced Lamb and Prime Black Angus Hanger Steak for our mains. We ordered the steak medium, but it came out a little undercooked for our preference – still tasty though! Loved all the flavors and presentation. Service was friendly and welcoming.

Food is decent but portions are very small for the price. Duck portion size was almost laughable. Basicly a single narrow strip for almost $50. Building is dated and needs some TLC. Service was great and very attentive. The location and views are what makes this place stand out unfortunately not the food.

Perched above Lake Tahoe, the view is undeniably spectacular, but what distinguishes Christy Hill from countless destination restaurants is that the kitchen does not rely on scenery to carry the experience. There is real intent on the plate.
We ordered broadly across the menu, focusing on dishes that best express the kitchen’s range.
The hamachi crudo was clean and properly handled, with good balance and freshness, though it leaned conservative. Pleasant and technically sound, but not particularly distinctive. A solid 7/10.
The grilled octopus was excellent. Perfectly tender with a confident char, deeply savory without becoming heavy, and well judged in its seasoning. This was octopus cooked by a kitchen that understands both technique and restraint. A clear 9/10.
The oxtail ravioli was the standout of the evening. Deep, rich, and luxuriously unctuous, yet never cloying. The pasta was delicate, the filling intensely flavored from long, patient cooking, and the overall composition showed real culinary maturity. This dish would hold its own in any serious dining city. An unequivocal 10/10.
The steak was well cooked and competently executed, but would have benefited from greater marbling to elevate it from good to truly memorable. The technique was there; the cut itself slightly limited the final result. A respectable 7/10.
Desserts closed the evening on a high.
The chocolate croissant bread pudding was exceptional. Rich, indulgent, and perfectly textured, it delivered comfort without heaviness and sweetness without excess. Executed with confidence and generosity, this was a dish that invites silence at the table. A definitive 10/10.
The ube cheesecake was enjoyable and well balanced, with restrained sweetness and good textural contrast, though it did not quite reach the same heights as the bread pudding. Pleasant rather than compelling. 7/10.
The wine list deserves special mention. Thoughtfully curated, balanced rather than showy, and clearly assembled with food in mind. It offers enough depth for serious wine drinkers while remaining accessible, with selections that pair naturally with the menu rather than compete with it.
Service throughout the evening was exemplary. Warm, intuitive, and genuinely hospitable without ever feeling rehearsed or intrusive. Timing was precise, and the staff clearly takes pride in the experience they deliver. The manager of the restaurant deserves a special mention. He greeted everyone who walked in warmly and sincerely. He continued to make conversations with us throughout the evening without being intrusive. He was a sheer delight. He exudes hospitality. A flawless 10/10.
Ambience and setting are equally strong. The dining room strikes the right balance between elegance and ease, allowing the lake view to frame the experience rather than dominate it. Polished but relaxed, and perfectly suited to its surroundings. Another 10/10.
Christy Hill is not chasing trends or theatricality. It succeeds by doing the fundamentals very well, and at times, exceptionally so. With dishes like the oxtail ravioli and bread pudding anchoring the menu, it proves that destination dining can be more than just a beautiful view.
A confident and unpretentious restaurant that knows exactly what it wants to be. It was also very welcoming of our 2 year old toddler.

Sand bar is like the outside limited menu of Christy Hill. Reserve to get seating inside, great views and larger menu. But we just out outside because the weather was great and can see the golden Mountain View during sunset. Food was pretty good, lobster roll could use more lobster, ceviche’s could be a bit more flavorful. Great live performance though and the ambiance is top notch

Christy Hill was an incredible experience! Every penny was worth it. The hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming, and our waiter was knowledgeable and great. The food was outstanding, including the roast beet salad, softshell lobster, sea bass, lamb, and their own delicious bread. The dessert with coffee was the perfect finish. The cozy views made it an unforgettable experience.

Cannot understate how great of an experience I have every time I’ve gone. Menu is always fantastic with every change made. The meals have a wonderful combination of modern American as well as inspirations from Latino-American. Staff is fantastic and always makes me feel like I’m talking to friends that care. Never a bad meal or experience. Fantastic view. Salmon + trout roe is fantastic and the duck with mole is an incredibly unique and creative combination.

My wife and I made the correct decision to come here for our anniversary, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. There is no such thing as a bad seat in the restaurant, with all tables able to see how the large windows overlooking the lake. I hope we can find ourselves back here in the future in warmer weather so we can sit on the terrace!
