The pork chop was thin cut, and perfectly seasoned with salt and red pepper. The greens had a slight sweetness to them. The eggplant? WOW. It had ground meat and cheese? With some bread crumbs on top. And very soul food tasting. The red beans were standard fare, and had no meat or sausage to be seen. Booooo
Anyway the extra $2.25 side veggie put it at $13+ with a drink. I didn’t need or eat all of the side veggie, but I had to try the red beans.
Food going out every 5 minutes, it’s busy. There’s two waitresses, neither of which even give me water.
The busser or whoever (he wasn’t taking tables) that’s taking care of stuff steps up and takes my order. I know he didn’t have to do that, but the dude stepped up and I tipped him 5 bucks.
Anyway, best gumbo I ever had, I actually tipped the chef afterwards. Fried okra was Ok.
I wasn’t a fan of the cornbread, but it got 86’d while I was there, so go figure.
Anyone else ever had a weird dning experience like this?
