The atmosphere was awesome there was a big fan and blue lights. It looked so cool.
I have very much enjoyed my dinner here at Christina’s bar and gathering. I will definitely be back!

We initially trusted this venue to host our wedding reception after coming across their page on EventCollective, but as the planning process continued, we encountered a series of red flags that ultimately led to them canceling on us one month before our wedding—instead of addressing our concerns professionally. They chose to cancel our event entirely—showing zero accountability, professionalism, or remorse for the major inconvenience they caused.
When we noticed pricing discrepancies between what was advertised and what we were later charged, we reached out to discuss a resolution. They weren’t interested to proceed working with us or honoring their listed prices, they chose to cancel our event and refund our deposit—something they claim they don’t normally do, which speaks volumes. (Look at other reviews.) We never, not once, received a proper event packet (I have proof as we documented our entire initial encounter) or an updated menu until we pointed out major price discrepancies. We were quoted $145 for chicken tenders and other inflated pricing.
Additionally, they were hesitant about allowing a tasting, despite hosting other events, and consistently delayed scheduling one. Even when we picked up our refund, they attempted to have us sign a misleading document to protect themselves, rather than acknowledging their wrongdoings.
They also mentioned that the menu we acquired from their site was outdated and they haven’t been used for about 4 years, yet when the payment came out of our account the payment was taken by the company name Pearce, they state they haven’t gone by in years, which is conveniently odd and also misleading.
Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but having a venue mislead and overcharge clients, then cancel instead of addressing valid concerns, is completely unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this venue to proceed with extreme caution. They do not operate with integrity.
Also, really take heed to other negative reviews on here about their service and pay close attention to their responses. It says a lot about their character—something we unfortunately missed when initially booking!
I’ve attached the email as they initiated the termination of service, the text that followed, and final document that clearly shows they tried to place all the blame on our budgeting rather than acknowledging their lack of transparency.
We NEVER asked for any favors, handouts, or discounts. Discounted prices were OFFERED to us. Specifically, on Tuesday, January 28th, around 4:45 PM, our coordinator mentioned that she hadn’t gotten back to us about having a champagne wall because she wanted to offer the best prices. She also stated that if we weren’t getting married in March, she would have allowed us to bring our own champagne, but random inspections during that time could risk their license. These offers were made to us; we simply asked if it was okay to bring a champagne wall for our toast. There was NEVER an issue using their liquor.
To address the statement, “Your insinuation that you were somewhat misled regarding pricing has no merit and further, is insulting”:
Our concerns about pricing discrepancies were based on the information we had from your Eventective page since we didn’t received any other pricing. We did not fabricate these issues; they were evident in the documentation and communication. It is neither fair nor professional to dismiss our valid concerns as baseless or insulting. We expected transparency and consistency, which were not met. Instead of addressing these discrepancies, your response shows you simply have/had no regard for us and our event.
Additionally, for a company that claims no affiliation with Pearce, why was our payment processed by Pearce? This inconsistency needs to be addressed before they accuse us of misunderstanding. They should figure out what has been communicated and done before spreading falsehoods to cover themselves. We will not be gaslighted due to THEIR WRONGDOINGS. Sometimes, the fault lies with you, and it’s okay to take accountability! We acknowledged where we dropped the ball and communicated it respectfully, unfortunately as a business you can’t do the same?
Furthermore, why would requesting a tasting for an event at their location be surprising? There is nothing wrong with wanting to taste the food for an event we are hosting there. Our actions did not warrant the way we were treated and the response we received. They are not truly sorry for the inconvenience, and their service was far from what they claim to pride themselves on. We should not be expected to just deal with poor service. Like my fiancé said, THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY!
I’m sure we’ll get another response showing just how much they LACK in accountability and are more focused on saving themselves rather than acknowledging where they messed up! But the show must go on, and we leave the rest to karma!
