We are new to the area and were told Christie’s was good. It was. BUT– the moment we walked in the door (on a Sunday), we were immediately judged. Maybe because we weren’t in our “Sunday best”…? You know when you can FEEL all eyes on you? Looking around, yes, folks were whispering and staring. Even the staff. We ordered food to go and sat and waited. Teenagers were eating at the food window in the middle of the restaurant. Staff was rude and impolite. They didn’t give us any plasticware. How are you supposed to eat grits without SOMETHING? My son was so hungry, that he ate his whole omelet with his fingers. I go to look and give him a napkin and NOPE. No napkins either. We had a little bit of a drive. Luckily, I had a few napkins already in the car. When I called to express my concerns and give polite constructive criticism, I was told “Well we are used to our usual regulars” or something of the sort and “We don’t give plasticware with to go orders unless you ask for it”. Umm, what? Coming from someone who has worked in the restaurant field for YEARS, I would never treat paying customers the way they treated us. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The food for the most part was amazing. I ordered the chicken pie with slaw and squash. They also have Tony’s I’ve cream too! I look forward to trying more on the menu as this was my first time visiting. The banana pudding for dessert lacked any bananas or wafers. So I wouldn’t recommend the pudding.

We stopped here and had the absolute best home style meal- the flounder dish was amazing! The coleslaw also wonderful! Husband had a grilled ham and cheese.
The prices are awesome!
Very important note- they take credit cards but not for the tip- be sure to bring cash to tip for the amazing and friendly service!

Food is great. It’s country cooking at its finest. It is dated decor and needs some updating but ypu cant beat their food.

So, this weekend, we decided to hop on the Goldwing and explore some cool spots. We stumbled upon Christie’s Kitchen, tucked away just off the main strip in Polkville. Let me tell you, it’s a real gem.
Christie herself greeted us warmly and served us with a smile. The food? Oh, it was top-notch. I went for the sweet chili chicken wings, and my wife dug into the country fried steak with gravy. Plus, there’s a whole array of classic southern sides to choose from. My wife’s only gripe was that her meal wasn’t piping hot, but the flavor totally made up for it.
The place itself has that rustic charm, with its vintage vibes and southern farmhouse decor. And get this, they’re all about keeping it local – from serving only Sundrop products to whipping up everything fresh from Christie’s own recipes.
While we skipped dessert this time, they do offer Tony’s Ice cream, which my wife couldn’t resist. Overall, Christie’s Kitchen is definitely a spot we’ll be hitting up again. Can’t wait to try more of Christie’s specialties next time!

This was exactly what I expected. No frills, but service was friendly. My gravy was hot and the biscuit was soft, so that’s a win for me. For the price, I think this was a good breakfast. Would stop in again if in the area.

Everything awesome from food to service. Portions could be a bit more but no complaints. I’ve only been once but I plan to go back. The juicy cheeseburger is good!!
