Christian and Jakes Bistro ,
This was my first time to visit this bistro. I always enjoy to spend my money at local places and this one was great. We had two very large sandwichs , we had to take 1/2 of each home for dinner! We had a Manhatten (corned beeef on rye) and a French Dip (beef on a sub) both were fantastic. They only use Boars Head Provisions YUM!!!
Our server was Mandy and provided wonderful service.

My home town have sometime called bakerys where they make fresh bread and sanwiches daily.A sliced ham(deli ham) & cheese sanwich not the country or bologna ham is something that i have been searching here in Calhoun since i moved 5 years ago and i have finally found it.. This has become my favorite restaurant in all town. Flavor is perfect

When all other establisbments are lowering the bar, this place is raising it to a whole, new level.

My wife and I actually had time to take lunch together due to me having to take time off for the day and she having a small opening in her very busy schedule. We decided to try Christian and Jakes Bistro since it’s been here for several years and we have yet to try it. Mostly due to it’s limited open hours. The place looks like the old Hickory House that I grew up enjoying but with a splash of paint…so I enjoyed it. The waitress was nice and prompt with the food. I love Ruebens so I decided to try their Rueben. They use Russian dressing in theirs (some places use 1000 Island). I decided to try their chili while I was there as well. My wife tried the other which was a chicken based sandwich. I dug into the chili and it had a good flavor and would solve a craving. Is it the best…not by far, but doesn’t have that canned chili taste to it. I’d definitely get it again. The sandwich came with chips and a pickle (no other side options). So I bit into my Rueben….it was definitely delicious! It was fresh and hot. I would most definitely get it again if I ever visited again. My wife enjoyed her sandwich as well…..until……she found a hair melted into the cheese. Unfortunately, what you see left of the sandwich is exactly what went into the trash. Due to that, we will probably never return. They are a bit on the pricier side. Additionally, they do NOT offer a military discount.

I was a little disappointed today with my order. Normally my meals are very good and consistent from here. I ordered a bowl of Italian Wedding Soup. The proportion was almost equal to the cup size for a higher price. I have never had this before so I looked it up on Google. The pictures were showing vegetables and meatballs, so I thought I would try it. I had 3 tiny meat balls and hardly any vegetables. It was 90% broth. I will never order that or any soup by the bowl again. I would think that the in house bowls are probably twice the amount for dine in.

A great place to eat! The lunch rush is real here. Arrive early to avoid waiting for a seat. The vegetarian options are delicious. The Rueben was stacked high and full of flavor. Our server was attentive even as the restaurant filled up. The pies looked incredible. I look forward to trying them on my next visit.
