I visited Chowrastha Indian Restaurant and tried the idly and chicken puri. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The sambar was very watery and tasted was not good. Instead of chicken masala with the puri, they served PURI WITH CHILLI CHICKEN, which completely spoiled the taste of the breakfast and became the spoiler of the day for us.
I did notice that they have some good offers on mandi and lunch combos, which look appealing. However, based on my breakfast experience, the overall experience was very bad, and I’m hoping that their other dishes are prepared to a better standard than what I received.

Stopped by Chowrastha for brunch, and it totally hit the spot. The dosa was golden and crisp, the puri shaak tasted like something straight from home, and the Irani chai tied it all together with that cozy café warmth. No fuss, no fake flavor—just honest, feel-good food that makes you want to linger a little longer.

Food quality n taste both you won’t get it here. Sambhar is water with boiled veggies. Curries are not even thick , just mix of water. Feels like waste of money and time .I would give negative rating if possible

We frequently order your Tandoori Chicken Tikka and have always enjoyed it, but our latest order was not up to the mark. Roughly a third of the pieces were undercooked with pink meat still visible. This raises serious food safety concerns, and we hope you’ll look into quality checks to prevent such issues.

There was an issue with my order from two days ago so called to have it rectified. The manager (or person in charge) informed me that only a replacement could be offered since it had been more than two days, and a refund was not possible at this time. That made things difficult because I had a flight back home in a few hours and had to take a detour to accommodate the pickup. But if that is the policy, I understand! However the dismissive and unprofessional way the whole situation was handled by this manager/restaurant-in-charge person was completely unacceptable.
Anyway, I went ahead and asked them to make me a replacement order and tried fitting it into my schedule by taking a detour on my way to the airport. We picked it up and had a genuinely pleasant experience with the young woman at the register, who was very polite and sincerely apologetic.

The people work fast to get your order out. The food is always flavorful. Some of the best Indian food in the city. Plus it seems like a place people gather to eat and talk which is nice. The only downside is they sometimes can be unfriendly.

Chowrasta seems to be missing the “Rasta” these days. I didn’t see any experienced chef preparing the food — it appeared to be managed by college pass-outs with very little coordination.
We ordered Panipuri, Samosa Chaat, Benne Dosa, and tea. Surprisingly, it took 25 minutes just to get the Panipuri, even though there was no crowd. Each time we followed up.
The Benne Dosa was delayed as well, and after waiting long enough, we finally had to cancel it. This was very disappointing.
Customers travel all the way expecting good food and proper service. Please don’t take your customers for granted. We hope you improve your service and coordination so others don’t face the same experience.

Ok the location is great. However, the food is meh. We reached there and the place had lot of seating but most tables were dirty. The irani chai was awesome while the samosa were fine. I could feel, the samosa was fried with some other oil probably in one in which fish or some other nonveg has been fried. Again, I dont want to defame them but there was some nonveg smell in that samosa. I then ordered the Paneer Biryani, it was too bad, smelt bad too. I even told the cashier about it but they told they will pass it on to the cook, I never heard anything back from the cook. I very much admire Chowrasta, I am a regular customer of the one near Frisco but this one at Coppell was a disappointment.

Health code Violations and theft!!
This place is disgusting! Ordered Haleem at this location for $18. Over call they said the portion was 16 oz, waited 30 minutes to receive a container half full. When I asked them why it was half full, the guy I quote you “The Haleem is 12 Oz, the container is 16oz. The toppings are 4 oz” the toppings were half an egg btw.
While waiting I saw several health code violations.
1) Cashier guy rubs his nose consistently and then goes to cook food to the side.
2) A cooked tandoori chicken leg hanging near what looks like cleaning supply cabinets. SEE PHOTO
3) Guy comes out of the kitchen, grabs a drink, goes back in and starts cooking- DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS.
If this is what’s visible to the customer, I can only imagine what’s behind the scenes.
I have sent all my pictures and videos to the health department.. this place needs to be shut down until there’s proper training in place. If you care for your health avoid this place!
