We’ve been ordering from Chow Mein House for over 5 years and it has always been beyond excellent. I’ve referred many of my friends to this restaurant. However, our order tonight was not just not good, it was disgusting. My husband’s sizzling beef was boiled steak and veggies with NO flavor. My shrimp in lobster sauce had these tiny 1 inch shrimp instead of the usual very large plump ones. Shrimp and sauce and NO flavor whatsoever pulse there was only 6 of these tiny tasteless shrimp in the order. My son’s orange chicken wasn’t too bad but nothing like it used to to be. Combo fried rice also had absolutely NO flavor. A total disappointment. I hope they can get back on track and be what they use to be.

We ordered the lunch specials. We got a lot of food (soup, egg roll, rice, and main dish) for about $10.99. The food is very average. It seemed to be that they used a lot of spice to cover up the lack of seasonings.

Lunch today with friends. Ordered fried tofu with veggies. Sweet and sour chicken. All dishes were good. Presentation was extra nice. I had sweet and sour soup which had perfect amount of heat. We had a really nice inexpensive meal. But an hour later I was dizzy and hubby had a headache. Both very rare for us. So ask if they cook with MSG. It just might be that is causing our symptoms.

Chow Mein House is very good. The service was pretty quick, wished the workers had uniforms for such a pretty environment. The music was so soothing and it’s in the perfect plaza for lunch. The food was great hot and served to order. Egg rolls was the best and prices was very affordable for lunch. Stop in and give it a try.

The only place open Thanksgiving night near me. Ordered the spicy eggplant with pork, very savory and flavorful. The Hong Kong pan fried noodle with beef was kinda sad. Recieved a round noodle and poured the sauce ontop. Looked good but lacked flavor. Interior is clean and bright. I say check them out give em shot.

I just got an order of orange chicken and egg rolls. The chicken is so rubbery and cold and taste like old meat. The egg rolls are hard and I literally have peeled the outside off to get to the cold stuff inside. This is the first time ordering from this restaurant and will be my last.

The food is good overall. The restaurant needs to repulsor their seats. The main problem that I have with the restaurant is we ordered our food and when the check came everything that we ordered was a dollar or two more then what the menu said and the waiter never informed us that the prices were not accurate.
