Decided to make a stop at Chopstix – Vietnamese Street Food & Cafe in Grimes, today on our way home and so glad we did! This was our first time and we weren’t sure what to try first! Their menu is smaller but the options they have all sounded good! My husband decided to try an order of the chicken fried rice and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The fried rice- holy portion! You get a large plate, and let me tell you… every bite of it is so good with lots of chicken and veggies! Next, the sweet and sour chicken, which is always my go-to. I am pretty picky with breading on the chicken and I have to say- this is the best I’ve had around here! The chicken was tender and the breading was nice and crispy with sauce on the side for me to drown my chicken in. Of course our order is not complete without an order of fried egg rolls and crab rangoons! The egg rolls were full of flavor and the rangoons were stuffed with delicious cream cheese goodness- both fresh and crispy! We already started planning what we are getting for the next time after our first bite! And to top it off, the young lady at the cash register spelled my name right on our order, which never happens! (Usually get called Daniel) We will definitely be back!! Go check them out!

Quaint / quiet place….a few Chinese dishes but obviously the specialty is Vietnamese. Aromatic and deeply flavorful, a hidden gem if you want a twist on Asian food. Very clean and staff is also very friendly…..I will stop again next time I’m in Grimes, Iowa..

Best Lo Mein I’ve ever had – you can tell all the plates were made fresh to order, this isn’t your typical quick serve food, each menu item was made with care and great attention to detail. The owners have a great story about the coffee- it’s a must have!!

We visited on opening day and were very impressed. The restaurant is fresh and clean, warm and well-lit. We started with the Vietnamese Egg Rolls which were savory and hot. The Fried Shrimp roll is unique and delicious with a creamy filling, and the fried chicken wings were lightly battered with a flavorful coating. The Vietnamese Noodle Salad was an interesting mix of flavors and textures coated with the house sauce that was very satisfying and delicious. The owners said the food is authentic Vietnamese. We have no frame of reference for that, but we can say it very good food and a fine addition to the central Iowa dining scene. We’ll definitely eat here again!

I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend and I went there to see what they had and we were very happy with our experience. The owner, Cam, comes out and meets every guest. She goes into depth if you have allergies, food intolerances, and/or preferences to how the food is made. I am gluten-free, dairy-free and they were able to accommodate for me. The atmosphere had a homey feel with its warm lighting. I will definitely go there again. Chopstix is truly a hidden gem of Grimes.
