This is an honest review of our experience. Our server was kind and professional, and we tipped on the full bill before any comps. The manager also comped all of our food, which we appreciated.
The drinks, caviar, fries, ambiance, and service were great. Unfortunately, the scallops were chewy, the well-done steak was charred, the salmon sauce had separated, and the extra hollandaise was cold. Service was very slow—our 7:00 pm reservation didn’t receive entrées until after 8:30 pm.
The staff offered to remake the dishes, but by then we were done. The team was professional and made an effort to recover.

We had a lovely experience at Chops Lobster Bar, especially sitting at an outdoor table, which made for a great atmosphere. The tuna tartare was very fresh and well prepared. We also ordered the scallops and the Chilean sea bass—both were delicious and cooked nicely, though they leaned a bit on the salty side and could benefit from lighter seasoning. The key lime pie was fine, but not particularly memorable. Service throughout the meal was friendly and attentive. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner with great food and ambiance, just a few small tweaks away from perfection.

Saturday night dinner. Arrived at 8 and seated immediately. We were seated in the back room with a partial view of the kitchen. That was perfect for us because the music in the bar was horrid and singing off key and generally loud. Great menu. Our waiter was clearly a novice, but he was so so attentive. The chef prepared our Dover sole and triple lamb chops to perfection. Our tableside fillet of the fish was a nice show as was the quick saute right afterwards. Since our meal took over 40 minutes to be served, they proved a complimentary dessert. Three managers came by to check on us after our meal was served. Overall, a pleasant evening with a satisfying meal. The spinach was to die for. The molten lava cake.. perfect.

We weren’t very hungry, so we ordered cocktails and appetizers. The portions were quite small and the prices were high. The cocktails were good, the calamari and octopus were also nice, but the tuna was disappointing especially since the guacamole sauce tasted store-bought and almost spoiled. If I go back, I’d try the meat dishes instead of the seafood. The atmosphere was very nice, and the crowd was classy. It could be a good spot for special occasions. Also we ordered a well-done steak for my daughter, but it first came rare. We sent it back to be cooked more, yet it was still undercooked and bloody. We didn’t send it back a third time, but it would have been much better if they had paid more attention to this.
