Friendly counter service, good pizza in one of the historic buildings on the main street. The pizza had that nice delicious “grease” that comes from good quality sausage and pepperoni. Crust was thin, not Chicago/Wisconsin “tavern” cracker thin, but thin. I’d repeat.

NEW OWNER HAS TAKEN OVER AND I HAVE NOT EATEN THERE UNDER THE NEW MANAGEMENT. MY REVIEW WAS ONLY APPLICABLE TOWARDS THE PAST OWNERS:
If you are in Chisholm be sure to stop by this hidden gem! Choppy’s is a quaint Italian restaurant right on the main street. The ambiance is inviting and the servers are friendly. They recently added a new outdoor patio and expanded their hours! The patio is dog friendly, so if you are traveling with your pooch they can dine with you outside.
The food at Choppy’s is amazing! Best pizza on the range– hands down! I also highly recommend the breaded pork sandwich. You get a large portion for $9.75 and it is amazing!
I have never been disappointed at Choppy’s. If you are on the Iron Range make sure to stop by. It is my go-to place. Great service, great value, and great food! You’re gonna love it!
EDIT: New owner has cut most items off the menu. No wait staff and not currently open very often. Different atmosphere and is not in the spirit of the original Choppy’s Pizza.

The decor is pretty dated, looks like they are remodeling and expanding into courtyard. The service was good, took pizza for takeout. Got the house special was decent but not great. Crust is a little dense and thicker than I like.

Nice people. Toppings were good crust wasnt great to be honest. A lot of money per pizza for what it was. Its not terrible but not a highlight.
Very simple menu. Ice cream appeared to have been in the freezer a while though we did not try it.
Again nice but would not go back.

New owners back in May, just tried this place today.
Very friendly, the wife of the owner was kind of serving since they have no servers.
The place was clean and cozy, albeit completely dead the whole time we were there.

Half the menu was unavailable and we were not informed of this until after we’d ordered and she sent the order to the cook, they forgot my tea and when it came out there was no sugar or cream. When I asked for sugar it came in a cup because they have no sugar packets.
The drinks are mostly from a can or bottle, they didn’t have ice cream or strawberry syrup for malt shakes or milk.
The owners wife was unaware of all of this until she went to go get our orders.
Forgot an ingredient on one of our pizzas but they did take off the charge for it.

The food was good for what it was, the lady was very kind. It does feel like they’re struggling with the new business. Definitely no malice, and I’d like to try again in a year when they’ve had more time to figure things out.

Best sausage pizza in the world. We travel hundreds of miles just to get some Choppy’s. Great Covid compliance!

I really like the new patio. It’s so nice to be able to sit outside this summer. Wait time was normal. Better than most restaurants I’ve been to that are in the cities who’ve been affected by Covid. You can’t please all Karens apparently. My favorite was the gluten free pizza. I don’t have a gluten intolerance, but that pizza tasted amazing. I’m glad they now sell beer. It was nice to have some beer and pizza on the patio in the nice weather. Perfect break before heading to the cabin after a long day of driving up from the cities.

Best pizza anywhere! It’s been a family tradition since before I was born. The customer service is fantastic, and the pizza is top notch. Great assortment of menu items at affordable prices. It’s a definite “must do” place when you’re in town.

I’ll start off by saying the pizza was excellent. My issues are…. There were only 2 other people there and the pizza took 45 minutes to get to our table. The pizza and 1 coke was $23. For a extra $4 at snicker I would have gotten a picture of beer and a pound of wings. The place has new owners I hear so I will try it again once hopefully they get in their groove.

Excellent pizza: generous chunks of outstanding home made Italian sausage! The cheese was also generous, the sauce and crust (thin and light) excellent. The only criticism I have is that the veggie toppings were skimpy. I did not include any photos as the place is small and rather nondescript. But the pizza makes up for that!
