We had a lovely date here, the restaurant has a warm and well-decorated atmosphere, the service was impeccable with every member of staff checking on us to ensure we were having a good time. The food was lovely, especially the sauces we ordered with our steaks! Great portion size as well, would definitely return to try some other items on the menu.

Very polite and fast service from both servers. Manager was actively engaging with guests and taking orders too. Food was delicious. I tried vegetarian antipisti platter for 2 as my starter and a main. The size of the dish was very generous and food was hot and tasty. I would order it again in a future.

The food was yum! The steak was well cooked and the triple cooked chips were crunchy and fluffy. The pan fried sea bass was tasty. The cheesecake was great. The strawberry tart not so great it was just a whipped cream and the strawberries tasted like onion. Service was great.

The service was excellent, and our waiter was lovely. However, the food was a complete disappointment. The menu looked great on paper, but the execution was severely lacking.
I ordered the ribeye steak (medium rare), and while the outer portions seemed fine, the center was completely raw—red and undercooked. It was inedible. My partner’s BBQ full rack of lamb also fell short; it tasted as if it had just been reheated rather than freshly prepared.
The owner acknowledged that my steak was undercooked and kindly removed it from the bill, but by that point, I had lost my appetite. We chose not to order dessert, as I felt physically ill after seeing the raw meat.
I sincerely hope the chef improves their technique and that better quality control is implemented before serving dishes. Given that this restaurant is attached to a hotel, I expected a much higher standard.

I just wanted to personally thank the restaurant manager who was on duty this evening (5th October ’25). There was a mishap with me being able to take the food home that I was not able to finish. At the time I was quite disappointed but in hindsight the manager was so lovely about the situation and I just wanted to say thank you very much. They have some great vegan options here – the vegan creamy mushroom pasta was lovely. Thank you

Visited 12/01: stayed in the adjoining hotel so decided to have dinner here the night we arrived at the hotel.
There was plenty of tables to choose from despite being advised to book ahead as it gets busy, it was very quiet the whole time we were there so unsure why it said we needed to book!
The hotel says you can get three courses for £25 and on the site is says £25 but then you click the menu and go to the restaurant and they say it’s £26 which is a bit cheeky, yes it’s only a £1 difference but surely you should change the signage right?! But at it turned out the selection on the set menu was terrible so we chose off the main menu instead.
The portion sizes are huge and the presentation makes it look better than it tasted- it was like a whole chicken inside the chicken burger and a whole cow inside the beef burger!
The wings were nice but over £8 for 3 wings shared between two of us seems steep, but the sauce was so nice and spicy. The burgers were ok- edible but nothing particularly nice and we ended up leaving some as it was just huge! The chips were ok, some felt undercooked but the sauces and coleslaw were left under heating lamps and developed a “film” across them.
I wouldn’t come here again, the food was below average except for the wings.
The service was okay, nothing amazing but not awful either.
There was a smell towards the end of the meal too- like sinks or toilets…
I’d sum up the experience and taste as “meh”.

Visited on Father’s Day a few weeks back and had a lovely time. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Service was quick, food was absolutely delicious! I had the pork chops with extra blue cheese sauce, plus a side of onion rings, and Eton Mess for dessert. Children’s meals were good too. Atmosphere wasn’t great, but it was a Sunday evening in a hotel restaurant so not exactly a surprise, especially when you’re in the heart of Bristol with so many options for eating out. I’d definitely return to the Chophouse though and would recommend it.

Went here after driving past it over the months to give it a go and can’t say I’m impressed. My wife had the steak which was dry and chewy with myself having having the burger which was bland so won’t be coming back.
