Chop Shop Bar & Grill celebrates all things meat, and does so in a simple way to let the true taste of the amazing produce speak for itself. We use our Argentinian asado BBQ chargrill to enhance the flavours of the meat over natural flames. We pride ourselves on using the very best local meat from Sheffield and the surrounding areas. Our relaxing bar & grill is the perfect place to enjoy a wonderfully chargrilled piece of meat and glass of wine in the heart of Kelham Island, Sheffield.

Popped In today and had a Flat Iron steak roast and it did not disappoint. The steak just melted in the mouth and was cooked to perfection.
The vegetables that came with it were tender and tasted amazing. The roast potatoes cooked in chicken fat were amazing.
The staff were helpful and polite and I couldn’t fault them at all.
Definitely well worth visiting.
Had the Korean Rotisserie Chicken and Truffle & Parmesan fries, both very tasty.
Other members of our group had the Sunday Roast which looked delicious and they were also happy with their food and finishing it off with the white chocolate cheesecake went down a treat.
Thanks for making our Sunday a good one.
Saturday evening 6:15 table for 3
A slightly off pint of Neck Oil, but they also had Jute from Salt Brewery which was fine – drinks were a little slow to arrive.
That’s pretty much the bad stuff out of the way we arrived at 6:15 and by 6:45 it was almost full.
Plenty of staff, some stood around chatting by in fairness there wasn’t a lot for them to do until food was ready. Kitchen has a bell, staff immediately respond to the pass and I like that you can see into the kitchen.
So, the food…
Two of us had the flat iron, not the easiest of steaks to cook perfectly, but they were fine. I had the “Butchers Block” (photo attached), a mix of meaty wonderfulness with Belly Pork from Moss Valley, Beef Cheeks, Lamb Kofta, Chicken wings and a flat iron steak cooked rare – all with chips for £30 which I consider a great value meal given the quality.
They source their meats locally and know how to cook them perfectly.
Atmosphere wise, it’s noisy and could benefit from some acoustic dampening.
Overall, Chop Shop is hard to beat and knocks the spots off places like Smoke in the city centre (which used to be great, but is now dire and best avoided).
All in with tip was £100 which is fine given the quality and portion size. Worth getting out of the city centre for, but parking can be a little difficult. We’ll certainly return.
We sat outside in a sun trap on a beautiful day and enjoyed a Chardonnay with a Sunday lunch. It was delicious and the service was great!
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger. I changed my skinny fries to sweet potato fries as they are beaut. Yes it was a messy (the best burgers are), slightly soggy bottom burger, but the gravy is soooo good, and the brioche bun soaks it’s up nicely so that it actually stays together better than some chicken burgers I’ve had. I ate every bit.
Ben went with the Butchers Block Harissa chicken wings, flat iron steak, sticky belly pork, lamb kofta and pulled beef cheek, served with skinny fries & slaw. Wow. What a beautiful plate of different meats!
We had a few pints to wash it down with The team at Chop Shop is always friendly and welcoming
They had a Taste of Kelham Food Tour hen do on when we arrived, and what a great space for an event! They also do bottomless brunch on Fridays & Saturdays… maybe next time
