My husband and I had such a wonderful time and DELICIOUS meal at this local Smithtown gem!!!
The staff was absolutely incredible!!! They must have checked on us at least 5 times to make sure all was up to their high standards- and everything was!! The manager was so personable and introduced himself to us. We felt like we were regulars here(and I sure would like to be!!- I can’t wait to go back)

We were in the process of selecting a local eatery for a quality steak, which led us to the Chop Shop in Smithtown.
The quality of both the food and service was outstanding. The food was remarkable. I savored a Filet Mignon accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables, while my wife opted for a special dish featuring angel hair pasta with spinach and garlic.
We concluded our evening with a slice of rainbow cookie cake.
Upon entering, the restaurant boasts a lovely bar with a television and ample seating, all adorned with inviting decor.
Parking may pose a challenge since the restaurant is situated on Main Street.

The Chop Shop is a special find on Route 25A in the heart of Smithtown. Having been customers for years we feel that the food and service has really improved. Upscale but not overdone. One of our favorites!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Chop Shop in Smithtown. From start to finish, the food and service were top-notch.
We kicked things off with the baked clams, fried calamari, and the octopus—every one of them was excellent. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and a great start to the night.
For entrées, there were four of us, and everyone walked away impressed. I went with the skirt steak (not the NY strip!), and it was incredible—tender, packed with flavor, and paired perfectly with the potato hash. One of my companions ordered the lamb shank and said it was the best he’s ever had. My wife had the salad with grilled chicken and absolutely loved it. We also tried the sliders, which were awesome as well.
A huge shoutout to Dave, the general manager. He was extremely accommodating, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The place was poppin’, the vibe was great, and the bartenders were excellent too.
Highly recommend The Chop Shop—great food, great people, great night. We’ll definitely be back!

Great lunch experience here earlier today. Filet mignon was excellent and so was the wine. Wife had the Thai calamari and said it was perfect. Also loved the coconut martini she had. Daughter said the burger was fantastic. Place is clean and classy. Staff was very attentive and professional. Will definitely be back for dinner some day. Highly recommend.

Nice restaurant. Plenty of options including gluten- free. The reason for taking away stars is because not all the food was excellent and there was not much interaction with the server. Normally, a server would foster a rapport. That makes the experience more special. I’ve been here twice and I didn’t get that feeling either time. As for the food, it was great that the bread came out warm and that the butter was soft. The first time I had gone, I was very happy with the clams oreganata and this time it was just as good. The lemon sauce is delicious, especially for dipping the bread. Those that had the lamb shank said it was very good and filling. However the French onion soup was watery with no flavor whatsoever and neither the skirt steak nor the wedge salad and goat cheese salads were worth repeating. The risotto was filling but somewhat bland. The stuffed shrimp was cooked nicely.. juicy, not dry. The rib-eye steak(1st visit) was much better than the skirt steak (2nd visit) . Brownie sundae was very nice (1st visit). Overall, second time around the group was not impressed with the food, however the fig martini was fabulous. I think appetizers and drinks at the bar is the best way to go.

Our first time here and a new favorite for us! Food was delicious, steaks cooked perfect to order! All special requests honored and correct. Service was friendly, efficient and wonderful! We had rainbow cookie cake and Cinnabon dessert both were incredible! Already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful early NYE dinner at Chop Shop. We’ve been there many times and our recent dinner was as excellent as those which came before. The marinated skirt steak was among the best I’ve ever had and the service, as usual, was excellent. I can also recommend highly the steak salad, Thai calamari and the sandwiches. Although not an inexpensive dining experience, pricing is fair in the current environment, making the Chop Shop worth a visit if you haven’t been there.

The food was excellent! The drinks were amazing! Loved the fried calamari! Love our amazing meals! We had fettuccine Alfredo, skirt steak over salad, and cheese burger. Staff super friendly! Very nice!
