I have been dying to try Chef Choo’s shop for a while now and I am so sad I didn’t stop by sooner! The chef’s special box that I chose today was truly an amazing experience! The cuts of sushi are so soft and delicious, with meticulous handcraft going into preparing them. The owners were on-site whipping up new masterpieces in the back, with a clean dining area to enjoy this box! If you get the opportunity to stop by, please do!

Cheff Choo’s food is one of a kind! The sushi is very high-quality where each bite is a joy. Typically at an omakase meal at other places I’m left needing additional pieces to feel full, but not with the omakase from Chef Choo; he provides generous portions of high-quality fish and other ingredients. I love how he pairs the fish with his own twists like Thai Honey Chili, Yuzu Ume Oil, Garlic Chili, Black Garlic Oil, etc. Chef Choo is our favorite omakase experience in Austin!

Pre-order is a must! Unless you wanna stand in line before they open to grab something… but why. Just preorder and CHOOse a time to pick it up. I would at least order a few days in advanced. They have limited orders per day. They have a small case in store that’s ready grab but usually sells out within hours after opening.
It’s a locally owned restaurant with maybe 5 tables inside. We had the 10pcs sushi and seared sake. Everything was 10/10. Will be back to try the sandos!!

Ordering can be a bit difficult since they’re in high demand. I’d love to see them scale up so it’s easier to get same-day orders without planning ahead. That said, the food is excellent for the price. Fresh and well executed.

Package is very cute and well packaged! He makes his own soy sauce, ponzu sauce and even pickles are so yummy!!! Every single thing it was in the box was amazing!!!! Highly recommended!!!!

We’ve been so very fortunate to have followed Chef Choo’s career for well over a decade. We were so excited about his new Omakase venture. We were one of the lucky ones who made reservations for New Years Eve, and it was heavenly. The food looked like a beautiful painting… Every bite better than the first. Always delicious omakase sushi/sashimi with beautifully plated to enjoy at home! Yellow tail roll was fantastic and to top that, strawberry matcha sando dessert was too yummy. Made me sad that sweet sando was gone too quickly. Thank you Chef Choo!
