Omg! Where to begin, this might have become my new favorite sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Justin took such great care of my girlfriend and I. Came here for date night and the sushi train is so fun. I could definitely see how this place is a phenomenal way to introduce kids to sushi. The food was outrageously flavorful, every bite being its own experience. Can’t wait to come here many more times. No wonder it’s so highly rated!

I came here for lunch several times while I was working in the area. Parking is across the street. The food is great and the service is great as well. The ramen was very well seasoned. The bento box is a great deal. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

This is North East Jersey. There’s good Korean/Japanese food everywhere. But if you want that good food with very personable (mom and pop type) service this is your spot. Esp if you have kids (which I do). Choo Choo Train is very kid friendly. Heck, they even have a cotton candy machine. There is a limited “rotating sushi” on a toy train (hence the name) which rolls around the front dining counter but you can order much more from their rather extensive menu. And unlike other Asian spots with boring dessert options there are some deep-fried gems here like the deep fried ice cream and deep fried Oreos. To top it all off it’s BYOB if you are so inclined. Everyone’s taste is different but my favorite thing on the menu is the Beef Negamaki appetizer. If you’ve never had it give it a try. You’ll feel like a regular after your 1st time here.

Really enjoy this place. Sat at the sushi bar as a couple the first time here and enjoyed picking off various sushi offers that came by on the cute sushi train. The sushi tastes very delicious and fresh. This time I revisited with my almost two year old and it’s very fun and family friendly. BYOB and the sushi does not disappoint. Super affordable too. Would definitely recommend. Everyone is friendly and even the bathrooms are adorable. Located in a very cute town that feels like upstate NY.

Would give more stars if I could. We loved it! Super nice Japanese restaurant with a train chugging along the track, pulling behind it cars holding goodies. The food was excellent! Our server, Justin, was very welcoming and attentive. It was a pleasure to eat there. We ordered the Choo Choo Sushi Plate. Outstanding dishes: pork Belly Yakitori, Vegetable Tempura and the So Good Roll which definitely lived up to its name. Great for kids.

Food was good for the most part. Chirashi had big pieces of fish and fresh. Noodle soups were tasty. Sushi from the moving train was fun to grab but disappointed with the quality. Restaurant was warm which was nice on a cold night but that warmer temperature made the sushi warm as well and that’s not good. Most of the rolls on the train were made with lots of fake crab meat.

Best sushi spot!! Our kids’ favorite too!! The owners are such kind and considerate people and they put a lot of thoughts into how to make this restaurant a fun kids friendly environment — preparing crayons, baby seats, kids meals, kids’ chopsticks. We felt really at home and welcomed.

I had a very pleasant experience dining here as an adult 🙂 Children will love it a lot. The overall food quality is good, but most impressive is the vibe and super friendly enthusiastic staff. My only complaint is the shrimp tempura has too thick starch.
