We got the opportunity to visit Choo Choo restaurant and bar tonight.
Decor is railroad themed with a caboose standing tall next to the bar.
Very cool and unique to see in person and inside of it is used as seating.
We were seated immediately in the private dining hall for my brother’s grooms dinner.
The dinner choices were Prime Rib, Walleye, or Alfredo.
I opted for the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and side salad.
The side salad was fresh with choice of Ranch, French or Blue cheese dressing and came with an outstanding bread stick.
The prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare and had a delicious crust of salty rub on the edges. Mashed potatoes were creamy and included melted butter in the center.
I tried my sister-in-laws fried walleye and had a crunchy batter and cooked perfectly.
Thank you Choo Choo, look forward to getting those wings in a couple days!

I heard about this restaurant that has a Caboose in it that you can eat in. I did not eat in it as there was already a family in there when I got there. No biggie. This restaurant had this Caboose outside back in 80’s and they were told by the city to get rid of it, so they built the restaurant around it and kept it making it what it is today. The restaurant needs allot of TLC, but everything else is good. With my love for trains, this was really good for me. Enjoy…

Had the cho cho wings and creme brulee. My girlfriend had the pickel ham soup and she loved it. Decent food for its price.

Cute spot!! The dry rub wings were fine. We got a side of buffalo sauce to spice them up. The fries were fine almost seemed to have a little better batter coating or something on them. They do have pull tabs.

We were so excited to try this fun restaurant out Friday night for my birthday. The inside is decorated in a train theme and the atmosphere is lively. We had heard the food was good, too. Our group had a combination of sandwiches, wings, burgers and chicken. The wings were delicious and the rest of the food was quite good, too. The service, however, really tainted out visit. We didn’t get her name but our server was older with gray hair and glasses on top of her head. She was wearing a Timberwolves jersey. She was quite obviously very unhappy about being there. She wasn’t friendly in the least, seemed bothered by taking our order, perturbed when we asked for some ranch sauce we’d ordered and never offered to refill our water and soda. Upon handing us our bill we said, ” Thank you” and she responded, “yeah.” Based on the food, we’d return; based on the service, definitely not. No one wants to feel like a bother when they go out to eat. 🙁

Great chicken wings and beer. The rest of the menu looks top-notch, just couldn’t get past the famous wings. They make their own ranch and blue cheese, enough said

I had the Thai peanut flatbread, my husband had the walleye sandwich and one of our guests had the Ruben sandwich. The flatbread was good, not excellent but good. Not sure if I’d do it again as I like to change it up when I go out to each. My husband said his sandwich was fine, could have been hotter. The ciabatta bread was excellent.
My guest said that her Ruben was good and she gets it every time she’s there.
The bar area could have been a bit cleaner…the floors.

The restaurant is a clean rustic place with amazing food, drinks and service. I enjoyed Mark’s Choo Choo wings and Ribs. We also enjoyed the Walleye fingers ( breaded with Ritz cracker) wow. The restaurant was almost full, yet it was not noisy. (Awesome acoustics)
Our dessert was the Apple Crisp and it was amazing!
