Fantastic service. Great food. The buffet is the major attraction here, but the menu is filled with delightful selections.
Their egg rolls are stuffed full and spiced uniquely. The fried rice is phenomenal, especially for a buffet. The fried rangoons are light and crispy.
I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience, though I can’t discount what others have posted.
The staff is fluent in Chinese, though some are working hard to be understood in English. That’s two more languages than most people speak. They do a great job and are to be commended.

I have ate at Chongs for years and have always loved it. The egg rolls ha e gotten smaller and sometimes the press chicken doesn’t taste that great but I still love it. I usually get food to take home, big family cheaper that way. Buffet for 7 people compared to dinner for 3. Dinner for 3 pretty much feeds is all

Food was well cooked and tasted great. Wonton soup was really good compared to other restaurants I’ve been to. The dried rice and egg rolls were well prepared. The selection of dishes available on the buffet could have been better. The lighting inside was very dark. They need higher wattage light bulbs to dine by.

The buffet makes this place worth going to, particularly when you get carryouts. If you get a “buffet to go,” you are allowed 1 serving of every single item on the buffet. This means that for 8 dollars, you will end up with roughly 3 pounds of food, which can easily feed 3 or 4 people. It isn’t the highest quality food or anything, but it’s tasty enough for the price. The owners and their family that work there, aren’t very friendly, and at times, can be quite rude, but typically your server will be helpful and polite. Luckily the owners and family usually only work the checkout counter up front.

Great. All the buffet was fresh and hot, with a good selection. Best Chinese food in town. Better organized and displayed better than most & friendlier.Cleaner than most restaurants.
I’ve gone there for years, it dropped a little some time ago, but they are back.
I’ll be going there lots now.
Very little waiting.

Have been going here my whole life. It has its good days and bad days. Great variety at dinner small variety at lunch. Most of the waiters are fantastic. A couple of them are not, overall a very enjoyable experience, other than Chins there is none better with price and quality. Keep it up Chongs!

We had an absolutely terrible experience the other day.The food has never been “great” but for the price, I can feed my large family and they can eat what they want. This is the absolute worst the taste and quality the food was. The noodles had so much soy sauce on them that they were the darkest brown you can imagine on pasta. The ham fried rice had a weird overpowering sour aftertaste that made you immediately spit it out. The won ton soup was the best. I will never be returning to this establishment. They have lost my business. I urge the owners to go into their kitchen and watch the chefs store, prep, and cook. Or take a class. They are not that expensive and you will know when things are wrong. Because it is your cooks. No matter how long they have been there doing the same thing. People feel safe and get lazy.

You never know what you’re going to get. Sometimes it’s great. Most times it’s either no flavor or everything tastes the same. My son wanted to TRY a noodle. So knowing he wouldn’t eat it I gave him one. ONE. I guess they just sit and watch because they charged me an entire buffet for one noodle he spit out. And wasn’t allowed to bring in food for him to eat. They’ve chased me out of the building when my husband was paying and I walked out screaming “You pay! You pay!” Funniest and most infuriating experiences I’ve had have been here. $7.99 lunch buffet $9.50 supper buffet.

The health department rating of “B” as I recently was informed means “Beyond critical.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t the biggest disappointment during this visit. I ordered the buffet to go and was informed I would inform them the dishes I wanted and they would assemble my order. I was not allowed to have larger portions of one entree or multiple egg rolls. I was however allowed to have as much of their rice as I wanted. I will say the pressed chicken was excellent as always, the bbq wings were an unexpected delight as well. Sadly, the rice was an over salted assault. The egg roll seemed to be the same frozen bagged variety that every buffet has, I expected higher quality with the limit imposed. While I normally enjoy a trip to Chongs on Jackson, a buffet to go is a full priced disappointment. I will definitely not get a to go buffet, again.

Slow service waitress did not know what most items on the menu. Experience it was over 50 dollars for me my wife and our son we got 3 entrees was not expecting it to be 50 dollars. I got the cashew chicken it just did not taste right. My wife got sweet n sour chicken it was good and my son got general tzo chicken and it was more breading than meat. Do not think we will be going back.
