We ordered 2 shrimp rolls (meh, one tiny piece of shrimp per eggroll)

Chicken curry and paid an up charge to change white rice with chicken fried rice.
NO CHICKEN on the curry and received regular white rice
Egg foo young also barely any chicken and greasy! The gravy that came with it was orange and clumpy. Had no distinctive flavor at all. Garbage.
We drove from calverton. 40 minutes round-trip. What a waste of time and money. We picked through what we could stomach and threw out the rest.
We tried to call a few times, but when they realized we weren’t placing a new order, we kept getting “disconnected“.

Horrible experience I paid my money for two different type of Chinese dish and to my surprise the food was absolutely wrong!!! When I called this so called Maria who is the manger as she claimed was rude and disrespectful!! They will not be getting my money ever again … And on top of that no fork no spoon nothing smh Long Island is becoming the new BK!!!!!

Unfortunately this restaurant will get 1 star from me. We ordered chow mein and fried rice from here and we were quite disappointed.
1. The meals had little meat in it
2. The chow mein had a pool of oil on the bottom of it
3. The meals did not taste good in term of flavor

WHY THE BAD REVIEWS? I’ve been ordering from Chong Sar since I moved here (2016), and have never been disappointed. It’s tiny, and has no “atmosphere”, but the food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. They pack so much in the cartons they have to staple them shut. Try it once, then judge.

Unfortunately after many years of eating at Chong star our combo came with a part of steel wool in the broccoli . Called the phone number to the restaurant which is now a third party service that is helping.They directed me to their manger that requested us to deliver the food back for replacement. I was told that the chef double checks the food prior it be received but that is clearly not the case. We will not be going back to the restaurant to return the food and was not offered a refund.

Tried a new place since it’s close to my house. This was the absolute worst chinese food I have ever eaten. Ordered the boneless ribs combo… I think it came with yellow rice. The meat was fatty and over sauced. It was just a sugar glaze. The rice had no flavor what so ever. Also ordered beef lo mein which the noodles were way over cooked. The steamed vegetable dumplings had some strange mashed potatoes inside. I would never attempt to try this place again. There are so many other places around. Zero stars if possible.

This was my first and last time ordering from here. I ordered online while I was grocery shopping and will never blindly order from a restaurant again. When I walked in the buding was not in the best of shape. Most things outdated and dingy. If i didnt already order and pay, I would have walked right out. I ordered the boneless spare rib combo dinner and fried wontons. The bbq sauce is way too sweet and the ribs were not cooked well. The rice was bland but edible. The wontons however were soggy and disgusting. I have never gotten soggy wontons before. What a waste of money .

We’ve bought our take out here for years. We like that it isn’t usually overly greasy, as many are, food is good, and they are quick and efficient.. Our last visit changed all that. The woman taking the order kept asking about the General Tso’s Chicken, and apparently didn’t like my husband’s answer because she added a sesame chicken to the order, something we never get, also it’s a more pricey item. We ordered 3 food items and soup, and as soon as my husband got home, I noticed an extra item. I called, and they weren’t at all gracious about the mistake, on their part. They told me to bring it back. I didn’t want to make another trip, and considering the price of gas, and a week later, it’s still sitting in my fridge. I won’t be going there anymore.
