Chomps is a refreshing refraction from the usual fast-food options. In a town full of overprocessed, forgettable food, it’s rare to find a place that actually uses real, five-star–quality ingredients—and does it well. Everything tastes fresh, intentional, and genuinely better than anything else you can get around here.

You can tell this isn’t about cutting corners. The food is delicious, satisfying, and thoughtfully made, which makes a huge difference.

And on top of that, the owner, Steve, is great. Friendly, authentic, and clearly invested in both the food and the people. That kind of care shows up in the experience.

Highly recommend.

Great pastrami and Swiss sandwich. Reasonably priced.
However, a greeting upon entering and a smile would go a long way
Sorry to bother you while you’re checking TikTok on your phone!

Has a bit of a hole in the wall appearance, but don’t be fooled. That was, hands down, one of the best sandwich and soup meals I have ever had! The bread on my Italian sandwich was so fresh and crunchy, all the veggies were super fresh and crisp, and the minestrone soup was rich and full of flavor. I’m obsessed, and will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

I didn’t want to leave a review but I went to the website and they don’t have a contact email so I guess this is the way they get feedback.
I haven’t been to Chomps in years. At one point they were my favorite sandwich shop ever. After the new owner took over I went twice and then quit going because it was nowhere near as good as when Fish owned it. Lots of locals quit going for awhile, to be honest. It was just immediately much worse.
For some reason, today I decided it would be a good idea to try it again. I got a Veggie Chomp to go. There was a time a Chomps veggie was the best veggie you’ve ever had. But now…well you can see the picture. I took two bites and pitched it.
I didn’t give them one star because they have more than four from a decent number of reviewers so maybe it’s just the veggie sandwich that went downhill. I couldn’t bring myself to give three because that sandwich was almost unfathomably pathetic. If I saw that picture as the owner I would be very embarrassed.
The person at the counter did warn me they were out of sundried tomatoes, but as you can see in the pic it looks like they ran out of everything but avocado spread.
They still use Louis Swiss bread so that’s good. I’ve heard people say the owner tells customers he bakes it in-house. It’s Louis Swiss. You can get those exact same rolls at the City Market in El Jebel. And yes, they are excellent.
Anyway, I hope this compels the owner to step up his game. That place is a shell of what it was 15+ years ago.

Came here to grab a few sandwiches between activities. We arrived 20 minutes before closing and were greeted with attitudes by the employees who were sure to express their discontent with our arrival time. Not only were the employees rude, the food looked really bad. Dark meat butterball turkey and what appeared to be frozen meatballs were what I observed over the counter. We ended up walking out due to a discrepancy of available toppings as well as their credit card machine not capturing my payment. We would never return to this establishment, as convenient as the location may be. Work on your customer service and consider closing earlier if that’s how you treat paying customers who visit within business hours.

Really friendly service and a good Italian sandwich. Just be prepared, they customize every order so you need to tell them what you want it. If you don’t say lettuce & tomatoes, you won’t get it. It is nice to have that level of customization.

The owner is more worried about young kids (with their clothed parent) having a shirt on than the cleanliness or presentation of his establishment. I walked half a mile with my 4 young kids from the front of the hot springs pool, eager to try the place. As soon as we enter, without even greeting us, he immediately says the kids need a shirt and rudely kicks us out. This is while no one else was even in the restaurant too. It’s no where near as classy place or top quality food for this customer service treatment.

I had the roast beef sandwich. I liked it.
The prices are reasonable.

What I didn’t like;
-The offer soup which is why I went there in the first place, and they said they don’t have any today.

– Customer service. The radio was really loud and it was hard to hear the worker taking the order. I asked him to speak up and he smirked and shook his head.

– I asked what the different sandwich sizes looked like and the man taking the order showed me with his fingers. I had to ask to see a sample.

– The girl behind the bar was quiet and wouldn’t look up from her work to make eye contact or say a word to help with the order.

– the restaurant needs some serious decluttering.

Stopped by here after iron mountain hot springs. My husband got the soup of the day (chicken noodle) and i got the pastrami and swiss sandwich. His soup was really good, u can tell it’s homemade not store bought. My sandwich was just perfect, i love pastrami so i couldn’t not love it. The inside is super cute too. Can’t miss it, its a yellow house!!
