Melissa and her team at The Chocolate Angel were absolutely phenomenal — truly lifesavers. Just two weeks before our “I Do” ceremony, our original venue (the antique shop now known as Ellie’s Café) fell through and left us scrambling. Melissa stepped in without hesitation and welcomed us to their Richardson location, completely saving our wedding plans.
What could have been a stressful situation turned into one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences we could have imagined. The setting was unique, intimate, and full of charm — perfect for our private ceremony with family.
Our guests were in awe of everything: the incredible food, the attentive service, and the overall beauty of the space. Melissa and her team handled every detail with such warmth, professionalism, and care that we were able to fully relax and enjoy the moment.
This wasn’t just a venue — it became a place filled with memories. My husband and I already know this is somewhere we’ll return to and continue visiting as we grow older together.

Chocolate Angel is a great place to visit at eat. The food is amazing! I had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with bacon, and also had their delicious mango iced tea. They are open till 5:30PM, Mon-Sat. They have great service.

The service is not good. The dishes are broken and damaged. There were some large visible crazings on my daughter’s tea cup.
We felt rush to leave. The food was OK.
I felt that we paid too much which what we got.
I have been to many tea rooms all over the DFW and this is the worst I have been.

I recently visited Chocolate Angel with a friend for lunch. It was my second visit, her first. I had the best sandwich I have ever put in my mouth! Some Like it Hot! Grilled pimento cheese with candied jalapeños and bacon. I have not stopped thinking about it for 3 days! I can’t wait to go back. The atmosphere is as expected, girly tea room with a few men in the mix. It was busy but we could easily talk across the table and the service was friendly and efficient. I will be going back for my new favorite sandwich!

Went on a Saturday for their afternoon tea (2 course + 2 teas) with my friend for the first time. We didn’t expect much at first until we had our first bite on their 1st course (savory bites) everything on this plate is amazing!! Quicheeeee is delicious!! I forgot what kind is lol. We also picked 2 different kinds of tea. Overall experience is very good! Would recommend this place!✨

Aesthetically cute little tea cafe! They were very busy on a weekend afternoon and we had scheduled a reservation for our table a couple of days before. We tried their roasted almond tea, which didn’t taste much like almonds at all but was regardless great, and their white tea which had a hit on pineapple and fruity flavors to it. This cafe serves mostly sandwiches and small bites, not many desserts to choose from. We enjoyed the tomato basil soup, pimento cheese sandwich, and cucumber sandwich the most! Great tea place to hangout or book a special event. It would be great if they could add more sweets to their menu as it pairs well with tea in the future.
