I recently stopped by Choco Bean Coffee in Mission Viejo and had a really nice experience. I ordered the hazelnut coffee, and it was smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet. I also tried one of their bagels, which was fresh and satisfying. It’s a great spot for a relaxed coffee break with simple, good-quality options. I would definitely come back again for another cup.

I love checking out new coffee shops. This was my first visit (I don’t drive to Mission Viejo often) and I’m hooked! The first thing that impressed me was their home roasted coffee. The roasting machine is on display, and it is a fully functional roaster that they use to prepare their freshly roasted custom coffee blends. I had the daily special, toasted almond, and it was excellent!
There’s a nice, relaxing, shaded, and relatively secluded outdoor patio seating which is a great way to enjoy the beautiful SoCal weather!
And then there was the sandwiches … I got two: one for me and one for my wife, thinking that I’ll eat half of hers as usual. The sandwiches are tasty, appetizing, fresh ingredients, and large!!! I barely finished mine. Nothing short of a great deli sandwich!
I wish I took a picture of the sandwiches before I devoured them, but you can see a quarter left of each sandwich. Also attached is a picture of my wife’s Cappuccino.
I got to speak to the owner. Apparently he purchased the business a few weeks ago, but the shop has been around for almost thirty years. He was very courteous and you can tell he’s passionate about his business, coffee making, and customer service. He explained to me the rosting process and the different types of beans they roast.
Now I have a place to stop and take a break next time I’m driving through Mission.

This is exactly the kind of local café you look for. The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming, but the best part is the staff. Everyone working here is so friendly and attentive—they really make you feel part of the neighborhood. Great coffee, great service, and a lovely place to relax. Highly recommended!

I love this place for breakfast and lunch. They have the best coffee and sandwiches. They are also very kind. I add avocado to their turkey sandwich and get it toasted. It tastes incredible. You can order ahead of time.

Can I just say this is my favorite place for breakfast and lunch. The customer service is great, the food is delicious, the prices are not crazy like other places. I recommend their sandwiches and their lattes. Also their milk tea is very yummy.

Chocobean is my favorite way to start the day! The coffee is always fantastic — the toasted almond is my go-to. On a hot day, their iced coffee hits the spot, and the iced tea is just as refreshing. The staff is always so kind and welcoming. We’re lucky to have such a great spot in the neighborhood!

I do love the jalapeno cheddar bagel but anything with those 2 items, well, I’m pretty much a push over for… .. the staff is very friendly and I made the choice to hang out there the other day and have breakfast and brunch while doing some things on the computer… Great local business and I’m happy to support it… The picture is of a jalapeno bagel tuna sandwich that was delicious. They only had one outlet i was able to see so bring your fully charged computer if your planning to do that kind of thing!

Went with the family and kids on Sunday after church on Easter. Normally we’d do Starbucks but they’ve decided the cappuccinos there are not tasty anymore at all. This place has a very wide menu of breakfast and sandwiches and coffees and drinks which is great. In our case the downside was that while we got part of the order fairly soon the rest of it was delayed perhaps a half an hour. The owners were apologetic.

Good place to get a latte with freshly roasted coffee in-house. It is a family owned place with a very nice and friendly staff. If you are brewing coffee or fixing your cortado at home, try their verity of weekly roasted coffee beans. You will like it.
