The food is fresh and flavorful. The Carnitas is moist and juicy. The Grilled Chicken is season just right. The Chorizo is fresh and mildly spicy. The Al Pastor is delicious. There’s a variety of salsas and other items. Atmosphere is nice and welcoming, though a little small inside. Hopefully they’ll have outdoor seating as well during the nice weather. Prices are reasonable and portions sizes are typical. Best of all, is that all of the employees are really nice, friendly, and full of smiles. Wishing Chispiro’s lots of success and business.
One of my new favorite places for Mexican food!

I don’t want to tell y’all about Chispiro’s and at the same time I wanna tell everyone about Chispiro’s. Across from one of the best coffee cafe’s in San Jose (Blvd Coffee Almaden) is a wonderful eatery serving burritos, taco, tortas and more fresh in front of your eyes. You start on the right and shuffle left as staff builds your entree scoop by scoop. In my case it was a burrito with carne asada, pinto beans, Mexican rice, cilantro, onion, lime and an assortment of salsas. Wrapped tight within the warm tortilla and then stuffed into a paper wrap for me to grab n go. The staff-everyone of the three I interacted with were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Customer service was top notch. I ate outside on one of the few tables and daydreamed of when I would return. The burrito was excellent. The chips were fresh and salty. Located in a small strip mall/plaza there was plenty of parking.

Awesome burritos! Had the carne asada burrito with orange salsa. Refried beans were creamy, lettuce really crisp and fresh, tortilla has the right amount of chew, nice spiced rice, and tons of flavor in the steak. Will come again!

The staff here is nearly incompetent and when they continually make orders incorrectly…they don’t want to make it right and are even hesitate to refund a customer who received food they didn’t order. They refuse to be accountable for simple mistakes, blame their customers for said mistake, and just refuse make it right and simply apologize.

I assume they will be out of business sooner than later. The food is ok but their customer service is comically awful. They’ll blatantly lie to you, and tell you how you ordered wrong,…It’s insane!!!

They also have such lack of ability to run a successful restaurant…they don’t see bad reviews as an opportunity to make it right and improve the next time that customer returns but instead they cry about it. Ratings are live and change based on the most recent visit…it could have gone back up but not it’s locked it. Shame really…I was a regular customer and they continually messed up my order, half the time. They don’t deserve regular customers.

The other 1 star reviews are worth reading too….they’re accurate. They appear to not llike regular customers and that is a recipe for going out of business.

Good riddance.

SOLID. Almost too good to exist in such a sleepy part of Almaden. I saw the reviews, saw they open at 7am, and had to try it.

It’s a lot like Chipotle with the food counter and design and overall aesthetic, but even better. The freshness is absolutely better than Chipotle.

I tried a ton of tacos and a quesabirria. The flour taco’s tortilla is house made, it was great! As for meats, the Al pastor is the show winner for me. It’s unique, properly charred, and has excellent flavor. The asada was my least favorite but still quite excellent, and super beefy tasting. The carnitas was very good, though I’d have asked for a bit more of a fatty portion. Quesabirria was also very very good. They have a handful of other options as well, but nothing super Mexican like tripa.

They have fresh churros, mine was ten minutes old. It was great, especially for the super low fair price it is.

Also I tried the horchata, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was sweet, very cinnamon-y, and was ultra refreshing.

Pricing is just fair. $4 tacos. I’d honestly want them to be bigger and meatier. Consider that $4.50 gets you a SUPER taco from La Victoria that’s enormous, like 3x the size, AND includes sour cream, cheese, and guac for .50 more than here. Most things here seem to be a dollar or two more than a good value I think, but the quality makes up for it.

This place is amazing!!! The food is impeccable. The staff is lovely. The ambiance is warming with the Spanish guitar playing as we dined. We will definitely be back! It helps that we see the acupuncturist across the parking lot. We will definitely stop in after our bi-monthly poke. 😉

After years of looking for an affordable breakfast burrito i finally found the best one. The potatoes are nice a soft the eggs are tasty and for the price it’s a pretty good sized 8$ burrito. The Mexican food is also really good a nice selection and nice customization options definitely recommend

Another one of those “stumbled upon”, situations. Walked into this super clean, friendly local restaurant and just loved it. Great food, they make their own tortillas and everything looks and tastes fresh. Nice residential neighborhood and I hope their business thrives. We truly need to support more small local businesses like this one. Fantastic job, keep up the good work.

Pros: friendly staff, cute indoor, outdoor seating, fresh ingredients
Cons: even though they serve breakfast burrito they have no hot drinks!
It took a ling time to get our food, breakfast burrito was tasteless and hardly any tomatoes or cheese in the burrito (it was supposed to have them), I asked for some jalapeños either in the burrito or on the side but I didn’t get any.
