This was such a great option for Happy Hour during a recent girls trip to Napa! Standout service, wonderful food, and gorgeous cocktails.
SERVICE: Our waitress was awesome, she was able to look at a recipe on our phone and craft a cocktail that was so incredible! I felt very taken care of throughout our experience.
FOOD: I loved the taro chips that came with the guacamole. Such a unique addition to what is otherwise a simple appetizer. We also ordered the happy hour nachos. I found the queso to be slightly underwhelming but the pickled onions and other toppings definitely made up for this.
DRINKS: In addition to the custom cocktail, our table also ordered the “guava cup” which was not too sweet. I had a non-alcoholic drink (iced tea): perfectly refreshing.
I would definitely come back during their Happy Hour to try more drinks and maybe a taco. I do find this on the pricier side, as it’s right in downtown. Parking isn’t impossible, there’s public lots 2-3 blocks away that allow for 2 hours of free parking.

The Hubby and I dined in I believe an hour and a half before closing. We had the restaurant to ourselves. (kitchen closes 30 mins before scheduled closing but I think bar stays open)
Hubby ordered 2 house margaritas. I’m assuming they were good since he had a second.
We got a couple apps the ceviche was my favorite out of the 2. The other one was a little more bland in flavor.
I ordered the steak and fries. Steak was cooked perfectly and we both enjoyed the flavors. Fries were OK I would have preferred a veggie or rice with it. Fries didn’t really complement or elevate the dish in my opinion.
Hubby ordered the pork tacos no complaint they were generous on the meat and taste great.
We finished off with the chorros for dessert. Warm and doughy and paired with natella. We cleaned the plate!
Side note a lot of the photos on Google and yelp are outdated, they have since change the menu!
I’d recommend giving them a try even if only for a drink and light bite!

Loved discovering Chispa. We came for happy hour (the $2 oysters deal was extremely worth it). Food was good, they had some fun and creative spins on dishes that worked well. Oysters were extremely fresh and tasty, as were the sauces. We got the chicken with mole verde that was great but a little pricy for the portion size in my opinion (that is Napa though). The tostada was delicious and salmon crudo was alright, a little too much black garlic which overpowered the dish a little. We also ordered the esquites which we loved, the flavors were incredible.
The environment was lovely, people were super friendly (staff and patrons alike) and we had a great time overall. Will definitely be back !

We were recommended to Chispa by a wine host. We love tequila and popped in before dinner. The owner was there and shared her amazing knowledge and walked us though a phenomenal tasting. We will definitely be back!

Traveling from out of state and the drinks and food were unbelievable! Chips and queso, Baja fish tacos, and margarita! Incredible!!! Probably the best meal we’ve ever had! Atmosphere was beautiful!!! Dining outdoor or indoor option!

I happened on Chispa by accident + I loved it! My waitress was super lovely and helpful with the menu, a lot of the menu is sharing so she recommended what was suitable for a solo diner. I had the ceviche and the fish tacos and both of them were really yummy, especially the taro chips which accompanied the ceviche – they should be sold by the bag!!
My server was super super lovely and I even got a list of recommendations from her for the area

Great food and agave selection. The service could be a bit friendlier and the price is marked up for being in Napa. But, I understand the cost of doing business and am happy to have a reliable tequila and Mezcal bar to visit when in town.

Food was good! But service was super awkward and the drinks were very weak and felt more like juice and watered down than craft cocktails. They were well presented though.

Heard about this place in a list of best late-night cocktail bars. Cocktails were great, food was better. Cocktails are very tequila/mezcal driven: Mexican. Food seems to be more Spanish Tapas. We had the ceviche and spicy octopus; both were excellent! The staff was extremely nice! Worth the extra walk/drive to the West end of downtown.

Came to Napa for a girls trip and wanted to try something different other than a steakhouse or winery. We decided to pop into Chispa – great atmosphere and aesthetically pleasing. We sat at the bar and were waited on by the bartender. He was very short and not welcoming. I excused it thinking maybe he was just not having a good day. But as we stayed a bit longer , we were never checked on and had to reach out to ask him for additional service. The food was yummy but the drinks we ordered were subpar. We even noticed another patron that was dining in the bar area did not seem happy with the service and tossed back her drink and left quickly. We were going to stay for full service dining but after that experience we decided to go somewhere else in downtown Napa. Again, it wasn’t the restaurant as a whole more so the service we received from this individual. Oysters were great!
