So I’ve never been here before… I only picked this place because my best friend and I decided we wanted chinese and it happened to be in the same parking lot as the gas station I stopped at to get gas… Got home and was BEYOND disappointed!! I spent over 40 dollars on this food and got 90% vegetables! I got the curry chicken for almost 15 dollars and attached the pic of what it looked like. Barely any chicken! I also got a large combo meal with both garlic & schecuan chicken and attached a pic of just the amount of broccoli that was in it. There were a ton more additional veggies in it and about the same amount of meat as I got in curry chicken. UN. BE. LIEVABLE!!!! I’ve been to PLENTY of small, hole-in-the-wall places that taste great and have larger portions as well! This place not only had terrible meat to veggie ratio, but the chicken was mushy and seemed to be poor quality. Definitely seemed like the scraps. I didn’t judge when I walked in and saw the dingy condition of the place with a hand written sign on the wall that read “health inspection information can be provided upon request”, and I didn’t judge when I noticed the overpricing on the menu, or when it took almost 30 minutes to get my food because like I said, I’ve experienced similar situations and was very pleased with the outcome… BEYOND disappointed to have spent $43.41 on this. I should have given it one star, but gave it 2 stars because I do happen to like vegetables and they tasted okay. So did the flavors of the sauces. Not worth it at all in my opinion!

We tried Chi’s Wok due to our previous Chinese place closing… and it’s actually not half bad! We were hesitant to try the food as some reviews were up-and-down, but my experience here has been amazing. We typically order the kung pao chicken, orange chicken, combination lo mein, and their spring rolls. We have always received good quality food. Everything has been tasty and fresh! Yes, the inside and outside of the place is not the prettiest, but the people they have at the front taking orders are good. The owners are quite stern but I don’t take that personally. I recommend you try this place out if you’re in the area! They have weekly lunch specials and they pack up your plate.

I have to cover it in sweet-and-sour sauce to get any taste at all in my Chinese food at other places. This is the first time I’ve ever ate here and it was to go delivered by Uber eats. When I got it, it was steaming hot. nothing was spilled all over the place, which is fantastic! And when I first opened it, I’ve got a fork and I just tasted it and I thought golly ( yeah that’s a word)this is really good. I didn’t have to put any sweet-and-sour sauce on it. I ate it without anything. It was so good thank you guys thank you Chi’s I ordered the zucchini and brown sauce with shrimp. I don’t care for rock hard vegetables thrown on top of a dish and sent off to a recipient. These veggies were cooked and blended all together and soft to eat.

i eat here once a week minimum. their prices are more affordable than bottom barrel chinese food (panda express.) it tastes immaculate every single time. i’ve never had a single bad experience in the year i’ve religiously been coming. my favorite item on the menu is the chicken egg rolls. they’re huge, it comes with two & is packed with flavor. i hardly ever put soy sauce on them as they’re so good alone. the spring roll never makes it home. its always my car snack in the way home. everything is made fresh to order. food is always hot & yummy & proportions are large enough to save for lunch the next day.

Some of the chicken was very hard, crunchy. The guy came out to the cooler and what looked like this and I guess just recooked it. Not all was hard. No flavor in the rice, no vegetables. Guess I’m used to other Chinese in my home state.

Chis wok is a takeout only destination. So I will not report on the inside of the restaurant. They utilize their space for the demand. I could care less where they keep the food or ingredients as long as its up to code somewhat. The people complaining about seeing the food in the front fridge are prudes. Ignore them.
The food is immaculate and the price is fair. That’s really all you need to know. Order online and get a free appetizer. No other chinese places I know of do that! Best Chinese in mesquite!

05/09/2024: Chi’s Wok has been around for at least 30 years in the same location in Mesquite. There aren’t many Asian food choices in the area and it’s not too bad for Chinese/American food. The place is only to go or delivery. You can place an order online, phone, or in person. Service is fast. Food is consistently okay. Prices are reasonable. I enjoy the food for what it is. A lot of times when I crave authentic Chinese/Asian food and not have to drive 30+ minutes to Garland, Richardson, North Dallas, Chi’s Wok will do.
