Heard about this restaurant because I am gluten free and was so excited to try fried things I haven’t had in years for my birthday lunch. Since it was our first time going I was unsure how dining here went and there were no clear directions, the website said they don’t do reservations so we did not call ahead. We had 6 people total but my husband and I got there first to see if we needed to request a table, upon entry it was very small and had limited tables, I was unclear if someone would seat us or if we ordered at the counter. I decided to walk up to the counter and let the woman know it was our first time and we were unsure how it works, to which she replied “typically you order at the counter, do you want a menu” and I explained to her we had 4 more people coming and she then explained we’d have to find a table. The three big tables around the windows were full but there was an entire 4 tables empty in the middle, one had a laptop, the other three I noticed had little metal engraved table toppers that read “reserved”, so as she looked around and told me there wasn’t much room for us I asked “do y’all do reservations? I would have called ahead” and she says “not typically” (We were there at 12:25 and the “reserved party” I was informed was at 1). All together it felt very unwelcoming, confusing, and did not seem like this staff wanted us to be there so we left. It really stunk to hype myself up over this place for over a week, only to drive 45 minutes and not even get to give them a try. HOWEVER, we did end up pivoting and going to SmokeJacks across the street and it was AMAZING and one of the best gluten free inclusive menus of any barbecue restaurant. Save your time and money on this place, now that I have read more reviews, it sounds like we would have waited for ages to get cold bland food anyway!

It was not packed, you just had half the tables booked for reservations that you clearly state on your website that you do not, I’ve never heard of a restaurant having reservations only for special people through some back door process. The attitude of who I assume to be you was enough to make this somewhere I never give a chance again, next time someone says it’s their first time there, maybe don’t treat them like crap. Hope this helps!

My husband and I had dinner at Chiringa last night and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had there. We’ve always loved this restaurant, but last night—we couldn’t stop talking about how great it all was. The food was excellent as always, but what really set the experience apart was the staff. The three employees working up front were incredibly friendly and absolutely nailed it when it came to exceptional service. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Highly suggest the Baja style fried shrimp tacos and the margaritas!

My husband and I came here for dinner tonight and were absolutely blown away! I found it on my gluten free apps since I have Celiac, and it was such a pleasure to see that almost the entire menu was gluten free! Dedicated fryers and everything! We tried the shrimp and crab fritters, the fried fish basket, and a Baja taco — everything was just perfect! I can’t wait to go back and try more!

Food was absolutely perfect. My wife and I had their house margarita and a mojito. The drinks were delicious. Their plantains were out of this world. I had the lobster roll and it was perfect! My wife got the white fish basket. They were extremely busy and the general manager (Becca) came out and informed us they only had 2 white filets left when the dish comes with 3. She asked if there was anything we could add to the basket to make up for the missing filet. My wife chose the fried shrimp. The staff took care of us and continually apologized for the inconvenience. They were absolutely incredible (especially Becca for her attentiveness and attitude). I highly recommend them to anyone who loves seafood and incredible drinks!

Great gluten free FRIED SEAFOOD options!! They were also able to accommodate my dairy allergy (they usually put buttermilk in the fry batter but they made me a different batter). Some of the best fried shrimp in the area. My non-food allergy friend also really enjoyed it!

Grabbed a quick, casual lunch here for the first time today. I can see this place totally popping off during the warmer months with its beach vibes & open green space with ample outdoor seating. Service was A+. Super friendly & accommodating. Food was fresh & tasty. We opted for the fish sandwiches & were not disappointed. Even the tartar sauce was bright & herbaceous. Sides of fries, cucumber salad, & plantains were excellent. Rounded it off with a Red Stripe for the Mr. & a Margarita for me (house made mix made with fresh squeezed citrus). With tip it was $85+ so I can see why some might consider this pricey for average portions. The only bummer? While tasty, the margarita was pretty weak. Overall, if I was in the area for lunch, I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

Ubered here from the airport to experience the beltline. Stumbled upon this place and it was FANTASTIC. wings are a must have. Frozen drinks incredible too. Tacos also great – Baja fried fish are the way to go!! Vibe – sports bar but “beachy” / outdoorsy. Cornhole and big screens. Bartenders and wonderful and so personable, we had a great time and it was only 11am. Cannot recommend enough!!!

The place is good, nice place to hangout they have some games to play indoor like uno, monopoly and more. The food was decent, it’s a most popular place to grab some drinks. I don’t like their customer service because when I went up to order the lady was so rude, it was my first time visiting this place so I asked her which drink would she recommend and she didn’t respond to me and acted like she didn’t hear and she started talking the other people who ordered before me and just kept bragging about her husband and his football career.

Great atmosphere and margaritas. We often come here with friends and family. The food can be a hit or a miss, but lately it was mostly miss. Especially the fries, soggy and lukewarm. Please improve your fries quality.

Awesome spot. Order food and drinks and take it out of the patio where plenty of tables and chairs are or even just on the green. Tacos are good- have a little bite. Fried shrimp is BIG and yummy. Guacamole is better than most local Mexican Restaurants. Recently we ordered the lobster roll and we were very pleased.

Side Note: service can be slow. If you are ordering drinks and food the person is taking orders and bartending and the line often moves slow
