Chipotle gets a bad rep these days. There was nothing wrong with my experience or my meal. My burrito bowl tasted fine, and the service was fast. No complaints. That being said, there was nothing spectacular about my visit here.

We chose dinner at this Chipotle for a fundraiser our child’s school was doing. We came in at 7:30 pm. From the start, the front helpers were not very helpful after breaking up their conversation to serve us and answer questions about the menu. The coolers were not stocked, and the fountain dispensers were 3/4 completely empty. The dining area looked like there was a food fight that had just ended with bits of rice, lettuce, and other food related bits on the floor. If there was a broom in the back, then not a single employee knew it. The garbage cans were all overflowing. When we walked outside, the patio was covered in food debris as well. It is amazing that this newly opened location hasn’t burned down to the ground.

I love chipotle! However, there is some unethical practices going on. They tried charging me extra for rice when they NEVER use to do that. I asked if this was a new policy and the worker said it was because the manager said so. First of all, you don’t get charged extra when you order from online. So why would they charge in store? If they try doing this to you, in front of them, say “I change my mind, I’m going to order online since I get it for free.” This way they learn how wasteful they actually are being. Like I get rice and beans and meat on my bowl? I don’t order everything and now out of spite I want to start since they’re so stingy now. Anyway, rant over. I love chipotle but I am not cool with extra charges and I don’t want anyone else to be taken advantage of. So again, if they try scamming you just point out they don’t charge for it online and then if they still insist, cancel your in store order and order online . Sure a little petty but it’s on the manager for being inconsistent with Chipotle’s practices.

The steak was raw, chewy, and tasted like soap. Absolutely disgusting. I ordered double steak and got a tiny portion that looked like the regular amount if not less. Everything in the bowl was off. The fajita veggies were barely cooked and tasted like raw peppers. On top of that, the guac and even the rice had a weird soapy flavor that made the whole thing inedible. I took a few bites and ended up throwing the entire order away.
This location seriously needs to reevaluate their cooks and their cleaning routine. Food should NOT BE TASTING LIKE SOAP. That’s a basic level of sanitation and quality control that is clearly being ignored here. It’s honestly concerning and unacceptable. I forgot this location even existed. I was expecting my order to come from the Kent Station Chipotle, which has always been reliable, but it came from here instead. I’ve never had a worse experience with Chipotle. I genuinely hope I don’t get sick from this.
I contacted customer support but who knows if or when I’ll hear back. Never ordering from this location again.

What an unfortunate experience I had at Chipotle. My boyfriend and I wanted to get take out after working all day and decided for chipotle. We ordered two bowls, and mine had wilted, brown lettuce, no guacamole, and a giant hair attached to the chicken- pulling this out of my mouth after biting into it. I took pictures and my boyfriend and I agreed I shouldn’t eat anymore of it. We called the next day to get our order fixed and they said we could. After arriving at the store, they said without the name of the manager that approve the call they wouldn’t help us and to call tomorrow. Now, we just called and they said because we placed the order through the app there was nothing that could be done. I am just disappointed.

I was excited when this location originally opened since there was a chipotle near here. Every time I go to this location the portions are small and I feel like I am going through a prison line. I will just be driving the extra 30-40 mins for other locations. I have been loyal to chipotle but I’m very disappointed to see where this brand is headed.

Portion sizes are the worst if any Chipotle I’ve been to. If you order double meat, it’s maybe 1.5x serving if the worker is being nice. I was excited to have a Chipotle open up close by but I have given up on this location and just go to Taco Time instead.

The food is good. The service is not the best to me because a few days ago through your app I ordered fajitas veggies as an add in to my quesadilla. It was close to closing and the carne asada was not the softest. I don’t know if it was because it was late or the worker wasn’t in the mood which, ISNT GOOD SERVICE. The fajita veggies were out to the SIDE AND NOT IN THE quesadilla. Time before that I ordered a coke with my then order my mom picked it up but the worker never gave her my drink.

I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences at the Covington Chipotle, and I feel compelled to share my frustration. My most recent visit on April 21, 2025, was the last straw. The portion sizes are shockingly small, especially for a kids meal. I asked for a reasonable amount of chicken, and the staff informed me that I would have to pay extra for it. This is unacceptable!
It is disheartening to see so many negative reviews about this location, and I can confirm that they are warranted.
Chipotle is a well-known brand, but this location is failing to deliver the quality and service we expect. I hope they take these issues seriously and make the necessary changes, especially to the portion size and staff friendliness. Save your money and go elsewhere!
