Food quality was subpar. The white rice was overly lemony, overpowering the other ingredients in the burritos. The meat lacked flavor and was excessively oily. The chips appeared overcooked and had an off-putting taste.
Overall, this visit was disappointing, not only due to cleanliness, portioning, and food quality issues, but because these problems occurred at a newly opened location where performance should reflect peak brand standards. The experience fell well below expectations for Chipotle Mexican Grill and I will not be returning to this location.
One of the worst Chipotle in the town and I don’t recommend. Chipotle in Naglee road Tracy is excellent.
I also ordered a kids meal and the brown rice that came with it was inedible, it was either stale or undercooked because it was very hard my partner had to spit it out because it was clearly not cooked right. We make rice at home so we could tell it wasn’t steamed long enough or was stale and dehydrated making it hard unlike proper cooked rice.
In regards to the bowl my favorite part is the crunchy bites of corn with lettuce and tomatoe salsa, that’s what brings the flavor and balances out the meat. However, there was hardly any corn, cheese, and such a small amount of lettuce dusted over the top. With the amount of meat and rice and beans they piled in under it doesn’t compare to why they put barely any toppings.
At first glance it looks like it’s a full bowl but it’s mostly meat rice and beans. Quite disappointing. Maybe next time I’ll put “extra” on everything regarding toppings and hope for a better outcome. I’ll also put put “light meat” and “light rice” since they were heavy handed on those but very sparse on toppings.
It was very absurd for the price I payed for this bowl you’d think it actually come with proper measured ingredients not just a light sprinkle.
Every chipotle I’ve been to serves a normal amount with the spoons and tongs but this was less than “light” my family and I laughed when we examined how sparse it was. and I ordered a regular amount. Maybe we are just use to other chipotles and how they serve more generously compared to this one. I was very disappointed to come home to after a long day. I should have just gone to the Tracy one instead they never let me down and give normal balanced helpings for the topping to protein ratio. I think next time I won’t take the risk of coming here for awhile and stick to Tracy while they establish how to properly serve.
