I placed a Chipotle app order for pickup under the name Andy L. When I arrived, there were no employees at the pickup area, so I went to take the bag labeled with my name. A cashier abruptly stopped serving another customer, ran over, and yanked the bag out of my hand. That sudden physical action startled me and felt aggressive.
I immediately said I was picking up the order for Andy L, and I tried to verify the order contents verbally. She still refused to hand it over and called over another employee. I explained that I did not have my personal phone with me, so I could not open the Chipotle app—I only had a business phone at the time. I provided additional item details(chicken, extra fajita veggies, extra lettuce), but they continued treating me like I was attempting to steal.
Eventually I spent several minutes digging through email on my business phone and pulled up the email confirmation. Instead of apologizing for how this was handled, they laughed and made a comment about me “not having confirmation,” then told me, “Just grab your bag and go.” From beginning to end, I was treated like an unwelcome person—not a paying customer. When I asked for an apology for the aggressive and disrespectful behavior, I was told they needed an apology from me.
I understand stores need to prevent pickup theft. That does not justify physically grabbing items from customers, escalating the situation, mocking a customer, or refusing basic courtesy once the order is verified. This was embarrassing, stressful, and completely avoidable.
The meat also tastes a little funny. Maybe not spoiled, but definitely not fresh or well stored.
Please pay attention to the meat quality consistency if you are the store manager and see this review.
My most recent visit consisted of a lady server not saying a single word, and when I asked for lettuce, she just packed the burrito because there wasn’t much lettuce left (but I thought there was some on the way). I’m not sure what has happened, but the culture there has really gone down. I hope the employees there are doing ok.
