What made it worse was that several of the young employees were just standing around talking while customers were waiting and options were basically nonexistent. No sense of urgency and no effort to communicate or make it right.
It also felt like there was a clear lack of oversight or management on the floor. No one seemed to be directing the team, updating customers, or taking ownership of the situation. I get that things happen and big orders come in, but running out of your main ingredients and not actively managing the impact on in-store customers isn’t a great look.
Hopefully they can tighten things up.
A male employee was assisting me and was polite and willing to help. However, another employee—who appeared to be acting in a managerial role—came from the back and intervened in a hostile and unprofessional manner. She raised her voice, spoke to me disrespectfully, and embarrassed me in front of others. I am a calm, respectful customer, and I did nothing to deserve being yelled at or treated poorly.
My order was supposed to include free extra protein, yet it contained very little protein and was overwhelmingly rice. Because the bowl was poorly made, I politely asked for extra sides of sour cream and shredded cheese—nothing unreasonable. Instead of correcting the issue, the situation escalated due to her behavior.
I work a very demanding job, and the last thing I expect when spending my money is to be spoken to aggressively. I also consistently tip 30% or more, including on this visit, and I believe customers deserve basic respect regardless.
I am writing weeks later because I am still upset by how I was treated. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will now drive out of my way to visit a different Chipotle location. This employee would benefit greatly from additional customer service training, as no customer should be made to feel the way I did…
I went and stood in line and she made me feel like I was standing in line at TSA and was going to have to remove my laptop out the bag IMMEDIATELY.
She barely gives anyone time to think about what they want unlike subway with their whole load the food in front of you I truly felt like this place didn’t let me have it MY way..
The food was also very mid.
The manager comes across as a complete control freak, staff can’t seem to make even simple decisions without checking with her first. My fountain drink was completely flat, so I asked if I could exchange it for a bottled drink. She refused. I then asked for a refund, and she demanded a receipt. I explained that I had thrown it away, and she still insisted she couldn’t refund it without the receipt. I actually had to dig it out of the trash just to get my money back.
To top it off, she also asked me to return the fountain cup, as if she wanted to make sure I wasn’t secretly enjoying the flat soda. It was honestly comical how petty the whole situation was.
I’m used to much better Chipotle experiences. This manager does not represent the company well at all. She either needs more training or perhaps help finding a role better aligned with her strengths, because managing a Chipotle is clearly not her forte.

Episode 2!
I decided to give this location another chance because of the double-protein promotion Chipotle was offering today. I placed an online order for myself and my family. Unfortunately, every bowl that was supposed to include double protein appeared to contain closer to half a serving.
I drove back to the restaurant with my bowl, which was barely eaten (mostly rice), to address the issue. To my surprise, the same manager from my previous experience was still working. Once again, she immediately became confrontational, treating my concern as a personal attack rather than a customer service issue.
She insisted she personally remembered making my bowl and was confident she had added double protein. At that point, I told her I was no longer comfortable with the meal and requested a refund. She told me to throw the bowl away and said I would need to go online to request a refund instead.
By then, I was already frustrated, especially since I hadn’t even addressed the issues with the other three meals in my order. I asked if she could simply remake the bowl. Surprisingly, she agreed without much argument. I accepted the replacement and left, though the experience left me with little confidence, it ultimately ended up in the trash.
I’m sharing this extended review in hopes that other Chipotle customers in the area are aware of these ongoing issues. I also hope that if others have had similar experiences, they report them as well. This manager clearly needs significant customer service training or should be placed in a role better aligned with her abrasive and confrontational management style.
