1. Food preparer refused to take an order for a quesadilla, despite it being listed on the menu board. He said they only took orders for quesadillas online. When I pulled out my phone in disbelief, he said online orders take at least an hour to come through. I still don’t know why they refused quesadilla orders?
2. The cashier with the blonde wig seemed entirely disinterested. When we ordered tortilla chips she reluctantly put some cold, stale chips in a bag. At least half of the chips were stuck together with others, too.
3. We got the last of the forks. Well, there was another, but it was in a pool of unknown liquid. We saw the next customer ask for cutlery. A couple minutes later, the blonde wig gal brought a cardboard box and placed it on the counter, over the nasty cutlery containers. The adjacent drink/lid/straw area was filthy, with trash strewn about.
4. All trash cans were overflowing, despite the restaurant not being busy. No more than five other customers.
5. Every single table had trash and food remnants on it. 100% of them. We selected the table with the least food/trash.
This location appeared to be a very new building in a relatively expensive area. It’s wild the ownership/management would let such a significant investment be operated in such a lackluster manner by uncaring, lazy employees.
I just noticed after I ordered 2 beef barbacoa bowls and took back to my hotel and decided to do a review. I see this place has 2.9 stars!
I eat at Chipotle often in Los Angeles because I’ve read, Chipotle’s strategy is to source beef without hormones and antibiotics. I suppose chicken also?
This is the best Chipotle I’ve been to.
Why? The grilled veggies! Usually they cook all the veggies together.
But this location, all the veggies were cooked normally except for the bell peppers. The bell peppers were lightly cooked so they had a slightly crisp texture which creates a contrast. It was perfect.
This makes a big difference.
This guy isn’t a cook, he’s a chef.
Also everything else was very good except they didn’t have any plastic spoons but no big deal for me.
I just read some the of 1 star reviews. Some complain about the employees.
I only interact with the server and cashier and they both were very nice to me.
Reached out to Chipotles Customer Service all they did was send me an email giving me two free meals. Really would like some acknowledgement from the store, and my money back. Chewing a glove doesn’t really put me in the mood for more Chipotle.
The staff were pretty good, although the person doing my order didn’t understand English very well, and sometimes misunderstood what I or someone else said (one of the other people in my party said to put a tiny bit of rice and she put extra on) and the woman running the cash register had to tell her in Spanish what I said several times.
The food was excellent for the most part, but I decided to buy a bag of chips (pictured below) and they put an ungodly amount of salt on them so a good amount of them were inedible.
Overall, great location, most of the staff were great, and the food was incredible, except for how much salt was on the chips.
When I went to pick up the order, a female employee asked what name I was looking for. I gave my friend’s name, but she told me that was wrong. After some confusion, she eventually found the order — the bag had my account name, while the food label itself had my friend’s name. So my confusion was understandable.
What made this experience upsetting was the employee’s reaction. When she told me the order was under a different name, she slammed my soda cup down on the counter in a clearly aggressive and unprofessional way before walking away. I was taken aback by how unnecessary and disrespectful that behavior was. I immediately spoke with a male employee (possibly a manager) to report the incident.
If employees are unhappy, they shouldn’t take it out on customers. This was my first time placing a mobile order at Chipotle — and unfortunately, it will be my last. I hope Chipotle improves its hiring and training standards so that customers are treated with respect in the future.
