This place was fantastic when it was run by adults. Now that it’s run by kids who care about nothing, it’s terrrrible! When you walk up, they reluctantly tear their eyes from the screen to look at you. No smile or greeting. Then, as you go down the line as the only person in the place, they throw the food so hard into the bowl that it bounces out, and even into the other food containers. If you ask for beans, they skim off the top and give you plenty of bean juice. The same goes for the pico de gallo and other items. You’ll end up with Chipotle soup. If you say Yes to chips and a drink, you can believe you’ll be charged for a large before they go back to their phone. Oh, and the music is turned up so loud, they make everyone repeat what they said a few times. They can’t even hear each other! Lots of shouting, as a result. Don’t EVER order ahead! I got burned 3 separate times at very different hours of the day. One of my salads had 5 strips of lettuce at the bottom of a tiny soupy mess. I’m boycotting this location since the other stores are still great.

I ordered from the Chipotle in Bluffton and it was honestly a joke. I paid for a bowl with two meats and it showed up with only one, plus barely any rice or cheese — like they were rationing ingredients. If I’m paying extra, I expect to actually get what I ordered, not half a bowl thrown together with no care. This experience just proves that if you’re going to get food from that location, you need to physically go inside and watch them make it, because ordering online clearly isn’t it. The kids working there don’t seem to care at all, and it shows in the quality and portions. Customer service is horrible the kids had no idea what was going on when it came to pricing because i got a half and half and they charged me with double and they just argue in front of costumers.

Longtime customer (10+ years). The food is solid once it’s made, but the overall experience often makes it feel like a hassle to come here. Asking for double portions feels oddly uncomfortable, like you’re inconveniencing someone for something you’re paying extra for. At this point, it seems less like a staff issue and more like a hiring or management one. The staff never smiles, says hello, sometimes they legit look like robots.. Or like a better words like they legitimately hate their job jobs. Wish we could go back to the times we would hire actual working adult adults. This location has so much potential, because the food itself is consistently great.

Chipotle is one of my favorites! Use to have it atleast once a week. We have gave the bluffton location many chances, either we are being rushed to order our food by the employees while no one is in line, to having our order messed up and being over charged while we are literally standing in front of them and telling them what we want. Also charging us for double protein which is 7$ for 4 extra little strips of carne asada is crazy. Breaks my heart that this kind of service keeps happening to us because I love chipotle

We stopped in for lunch and ordered a salad. When I saw what bad shape the lettuce was in I asked if they had any fresh lettuce. The unhappy women at the counter said that was all they had. We passed and left. As we were leaving the women behind the counter was complaining about us. Moved here from Charleston and the Chipotles up there were filthy. We tried giving it another shot. We are done

I have frequented this Chipotle location many times over the last nine years. Overall, the quality of service (and the food, somewhat) has gone way downhill like pretty much all Chipotle locations. When this location first opened, I was super excited because I had previously only been able to enjoy Chipotle on long-distance trips. Prior to COVID in 2020, this location provided great food and reliably good customer service. In the years since 2020, this location has frequently had really poor customer service, tons of problems with equipment (no fountain drinks or ice), food item outages (no cheese, no tomatoes, no chips, etc.), and inconsistent food quality. This location stays open late until 11:00 PM, but if you come in during that final hour, be prepared for the “stink eye” from the staff who all just want to leave early so they can go home and smoke weed. Also in general the staff all look miserable—few staff members ever greet you with a smile or act like they want to be there.
Note: This is part of a larger societal trend of declining quality in customer service everywhere. The only places you get excellent customer service these days are either owner-run establishments (think Chick-fil-a or a local family-owned restaurant), or super-high-end resorts and restaurants (think Montage Palmetto Bluff).
Also, I have confirmed the phenomenon that when you order online for delivery or pickup, you get significantly less food (like up to 30% less) than if you order in person and watch a staff member prepare the order. This phenomenon is in full effect at this Chipotle location.

We ordered four bowls via online. The Guacamole was mostly brown, spoiled with a foul odor. Totally disgusting. Two orders were also missing ingredients. The rice was hard. All meals were tossed in the garbage. I tried to call the store directly but only reached their support center, which offered me four free bowls. Not exactly the best resolution as I preferred to have my money refunded so I can eat elsewhere. I strongly recommend avoiding this particular restaurant in Bluffton, SC.
UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, Chipotle responded and requested I visit their website to report the issue. I did just that but received a message stating unable to process the request. What’s the point of complaining of they are not willing to receive the message?
