Ordered online 20 minutes before arriving. Waited in drive thru with 2 cars in front of me for 15 minutes before I called the store. 1st car done within a minute. 2nd car done within 2-3. I get to the window and they’re mixing the brown rice so do I want white rice instead? You’ve had my order for approximately 40 minutes and still haven’t made it yet? Yeah, fresh food but not worth waiting an extra 20 minutes for, especially given Chipotle’s high prices.

Worst chipotle experience I have ever had. On 12/26/2025 at 4:30PM, I tried a second attempt going to this location, but on both occasions, they were out of meat with the exception of pork.
We were not greeted upon entering. Another person was waiting in line in front of us and was ignored by the staff for at least 3-4 minutes.
Standing there, we were able to notice a staff member next to the prep table using his personal phone before switching to a tablet (unhygienic). We were completely ignored by the staff members. When a staff member finally acknowledged us, she informed us that chicken would take 45 minutes to cook. All the while, her long braided hair was hanging in the food counter as she turned her head to ask another staff member regarding the time the chicken would take to cook. She was not wearing a hair net.
Overall, the kitchen looked dirty for that there were 3 staff members just standing around, appearing bored.

In conclusion, the staff is unprofessional, the food counter is appeared filthy, staff is unhygienic, and the staff did not properly prep food on both occasions to ensure that food is stocked for customers.

All customers present with me at that time walked out.

I recommend that staff should be properly trained, including management to ensure proper following of DHEC regulations and Chipotle policies etc.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but here we are. I tried this location once before and it was a fail but I really wanted to try it out again and yet again another fail. I don’t like spending money eating out and when I do I expect great food and customer service and got neither here. Apon entry you could see staff just hanging around talking. Once I got to the counter, as the first time I visited I was told they were out of multiple items. My only meat option was chicken which looked dried and a little in the bottom of the container. As a young boy is making my food other staff members are just hanging around. As I get to the register I get an immediate feeling that this employee is irritated. Asking if I want a drink. I didn’t see the fountain drinks around the corner so I asked for my options and with no words she just pointed at the drink case infront of me of the bottle drinks. I said oh that’s my only option, she said fountain drink around the corner with an attitude constantly looking at the other employees. I just said sorry I didn’t see the fountain drinks. Then I look at my food once in the car and the way he put my tacos inthe container they were all dumped out ontop of eachother, Injad to reassemble each taco. As someone who doesn’t stop for food often today was a fail and as someone who spent their younger days in food I’ll never understand the lack of customer service and quality some places provide. It starts with management. Being clean, presentable, professional come first. And always being out of ingredients is ridiculous. Be prepared for busy times.

I normally enjoy Chipotle, but this location in Sumter, SC was a major disappointment. The dining area and prep area were visibly dirty, several ingredients and sauces were completely unavailable, and the line moved painfully slow. The staff looked irritated, unprofessional, and acted like they had no interest in being there — which made the entire experience feel unwelcoming.

I was so uncomfortable with the conditions that I changed my mind about eating there and asked them to discard the food instead of serving it.

This location needs serious attention from management, because it reflects very poorly on the brand.

What are we doing guys???
As a previous business operator, this is probably one of the worst establishments I’ve ever been in. How do you have two managers and three staff members working and yet no one speaks to the customers when they come in. You’ve got third-party delivery drivers waiting over 30 minutes for orders. The two managers are too busy, talking, laughing and playing on their cell phones to assist the other three employees that are struggling with the workflow. Where is the sense of urgency? If you’re gonna run a restaurant, you need to move quickly and as a team.!!! one of the worst experiences, I have had in my 40 years of life you’re not only messing with people’s money, but you’re messing with the livelihood of your crew and you wonder why you can’t keep good employees? Look in the mirror managers they are reflecting you.!!!

I love Chipotle, however i am EXTREMELY disappointed with my portion size for a meal that ended up costing me $25. I ordered extra chicken and got a half portioned size. Sadly I don’t like my money being wasted and I will not be returning again. Tried to call to make a complaint and nobody but the automatic answering machine answers. Also, the food arrived cold like it was jist taken from the refrigerator. If I could score a zero, I would.

I believe in second chances; unfortunately, that means I was disappointed twice. The food itself was decent enough, but sub-par compared to other Chipotle’s; small servings in bins that were not being refilled until prompted by customers and many with spillover from other toppings. None of the employees seemed remotely happy, enthusiastic, or motivated which was reflected in the quality and overall atmosphere.
