Approximately less than 3 weeks ago (around the April 17th timeframe)my husband and I mutually chose to try this Chipotle Mexican Grill location in Norfolk Virginia. We came at a pretty busy time. We both chose their chipotle bowl options. After consuming my bowl that had appetizing guac, cilantro rice tomatoes and a multiple other toppings I can easily understand why the place was filled with multiple people when we waited in line for our order (the food was good).

How does this work? I walk in at 10:45PM. The closing time says 11PM everywhere. I walk in to get my food, and the African American lady says that I’m sorry we’re closed. Even the other coworkers didn’t know what to say. I tell them that I want to order my food, we can’t serve you “go do whatever you want”. How can a franchise store close 15 minutes early?

I walked in and said to the 4 employees standing at the counter and said, “I’ve never been here before, I need some help please”. They pointed to the left, and said “start there”. One employee then walked to the end of the counter, and looked at me. I hesitated, and she started naming things off, and I heard “bowl”, so I said “I want a bowl”. The rest was just picking between items, which rice?, which beans? etc. Before I had gotten my food, my order had been rung up, and I was quickly given my total, which at this point could have been any amount, as I was not told if there were up charges on certain items, how much the bowl cost up front, etc. When I got home to enjoy my takeout, there was not even a fork, or napkin in the bag
I have been wanting to go eat there for over a year. Today was my day. I rarely eat out, and I don’t get delivery either. So being ancient, new things are intimidating. The food was pretty good, but I am not going back to Chipotle’s. Over all, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth about this company.

I am so happy they opened this Chipotle close to were i live. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. My only discrepancy is the train that sometimes blocks the road for 10mins+

Service is horrible, the girl at the register has the memory of a hamster. We got queso and chips, she looks at the guy making the bowls and says “don’t forget the queso”. We keep standing there, directly in front of her register. 15 seconds pass, we ask if we can get the queso. “You didn’t order queso, can I see the receipt?” We show her the receipt and she gets the queso with maximum attitude. We say thank you, she acts like we’re in the wrong, ignores the thank you, rolls her eyes, and walks away. Complete trash, lack of hospitality and manners.

One of the workers was making a mobile order, he spilled the bowl on his shirt, and he decided it was a good idea to put the food BACK in the bowl and continue to pack it. His shirt looked nasty too. He even boasted and said “this is the bowl I spilled on myself” WHILE HE CONTINUED TO FINISH IT!!!! DISGUSTING!!!! Whoever got a mobile order tonight…praying for ya

We placed an order online and arrived for pickup. While there was no one else online, it took a few moments to be recognized. We were given the order and told everything was included, but there were no utensils or napkins included. (We had bowls so utensils were needed.) the restaurant itself was dirty with debris throughout and all the trash cans were overflowing. The food itself was pretty good, but it seems to have lost some flavor over the years with the food becoming more bland.

Order online, after come back home realized that food was cold and one plate was missing, return back and ask for the missing plate and not even apologize for it. Start eating my burrito and never see the meat until the end, like 4 piece of steak approximately. And finally at the bottom end of the receipt hanging from the bag on the back was 3 or 4 grain of rice stick to the receipt with a piece of hair, i like chipotle but i will never go back to this locattion ever again.

I’ll keep it brief. Unfortunately I had to go in to my place of employment on a Sunday and I found myself at Chipotle later in the evening. To their credit, they eventually made time for me after I was just standing there awkwardly looking at them and waiting for someone to ask me what I would like. I didn’t even know whose responsibility that was. I understand that everyone wanted to go home in about a little over an hour – but to already have all the chairs on top of the tables, several trash cans out in the seating area, and one of the main entrance doors locked that people kept trying to open by accident? That just screams “don’t come in here”. I did however come across this amazing Tobasco sauce that I would like to purchase. I usually don’t enjoy spicy food but it made the meal awesome! Thanks for the new condiment in my wheelhouse
