I had a really disappointing experience here. I ordered a bowl and asked for the chicken on the side, the same way I’ve always gotten it. Instead, the employee put it in a full container bowl and said she had to charge me extra. I told her I wanted it in the small container they always use, but she refused and said she was “following the rule book.”
When I asked for her name, she refused to give it and wasn’t wearing a name tag. The cashier and other staff were rude and kept looking at me like I was the problem. I asked to speak with a manager, and when she came over, she didn’t apologize or even acknowledge the issue—just looked at the bowls and said nothing.
Overall, it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. The staff was unprofessional, and the employee refusing to listen or provide her name made the situation even worse. I won’t be returning.
This time, I tried a Burrito Bowl (steak, no rice, two kinds of beans) and a Burrito (beef barbacoa, brown rice, two kinds of beans).
It was clear that without rice base, the Burrito Bowl looked quite flat (portion size was not generous), and someone with a big appetite might not find it filling enough. The burrito with brown rice, however, weighed a hefty 586g, which could easily be split into at least two meals, and was very satisfying.
Both beef options were fresh and flavorful, and they tasted great even when reheated the next day.
The staff were enthusiastic and friendly. Ordering, scanning the coupon, and checkout were all very quick. There were plenty of seats inside, and the environment was pleasant.
When I asked for the manager’s name—only in case I needed it when reaching out to Chipotle customer support for a refund—she came out and was rude, unprofessional, and hostile from the start. The manager, a young Latina woman with tattoos on her chest, refused to provide her name, laughed at me, told me “Do what you want, I won’t give you my name” and walked away while I was still speaking. I remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction.
As a former Chipotle employee of over 6 years, I understand the importance of treating people with respect. This experience was unacceptable and does not reflect Chipotle’s standards. This manager needs retraining on basic professionalism and personal values. I ate my food angry and couldn’t even enjoy it. I will not be returning to this location.
I arrived at 8:10 p.m., and there were about 15 people ahead of me. After waiting for 30 minutes, around 8:40 p.m., one of the kitchen staff announced that there would be an additional 17-minute wait for white rice. Rice is a basic item, how can a Chipotle run out of it for 47 min?
What made the experience even worse was the management. The manager or shift lead did not have the courtesy to inform customers directly about the delay. Instead, she told one of the high school employees to deliver the message. It is extremely disappointing that someone in a leadership position behaves this way.
There was no apology offered at any point for the unreasonable wait time.
I see that all the local guides give more stars to this store. I wonder they ever visited this location or write reviews remotely?
There was a long wait before a cashier showed up, and when she finally did, her attitude was very unpleasant. She acted like she wasn’t really listening, and communication was unclear. I asked if the kids’ meal came with chips and a drink, and she said yes, but when I got back to work, neither the chips nor the drink were included. A coworker had to go back to pick them up, and even he mentioned the cashier had very rude customer service.
Overall, the food was fine, but the customer service at checkout really brought down the experience.
You actually can’t even call in a complaint because they ask you to do it online. Sure our bowls were different, I had more of the extras but my sons bowl was so empty it was crazy. I was going to say something by my son didn’t want to be embarrassed.
They say they are being praised for value, this isn’t value. Now I was only happy with mine because I told the guy who I believe his name was also Mark to give me more than what he gave my son before me.
I’d give a shout out to the young lady after him helping with the tattoos on her forearm, she looked down at what he was giving with confusion and embarrassment so I definitely appreciate her empathy towards the moment.
Anyways shout out to everyone in the store except I believe the Caucasian gentleman of who I believe is the manager, Mark who is okay with representing chipotle with this trashy product.
I ended up giving my son some of my bowl because he was still hungry. If you’re looking for true value, just go further down the street into Germantown. Because after this, why would you want to get a half empty bowl?
