I wrote a critical review a few months ago after having a good run followed by a very bad run of service and policies at this location. Based on my perception only, they have appeared to have fixed the issues. After I took a 6-8 week break, I decided to retry it as it’s the most convenient location for me (I had been going to another loccation after the bad service). I was hoping that maybe the root cause issues had been addressed, and it appears they have been. I waited until I revisited 8 more times before writing this updated review to make sure the improved service/food was consistent on each visit, and it has been.
My 4 star ratings above reflect my experience on my last 8 or so orders. I am holding back from 5 just because of my really bad experiences detailed below. If I get to 25+ visits with continual good service, food quality, and consistent serving sizes, and I have had one refund attempt due to a mistake/etc that doesn’t put the work on me to fix it with making phone calls. I still maintain they shouldn’t charge a credit card until the proper food is provided to the customer. The customer should not be required to call an 800 number, deal with AI agents, and sit in queues, and loose 15-30 minutes of their day when they could fixed it right at the store. This is a corporate policy issue.
PREVIOUS NEGATIVE REVIEW:
II have been a loyal customer of this location for the last two years. Historically I had 1 bad experience for every 9 good experiences, so I figured that was 90% success, which is good for a fast-food restaurant. I like the people here too, they have all been very nice. I am only posting a negative review now as there is some kind of structural issue here. They either have management issues, staffing issues, cash flow issues, or something. They don’t have reliable hours, you can order from the app when it says online ordering is available and show up and they tell you they are not open (why don’t they disable online ordering as they normally do that) and now I have to call Chipotle to be refunded? Same issue if you order something and they don’t have it, its on the customer to get the refund. They should not charge a credit card until they have successfully fulfilled the order. A customer should never have to do more work to get their money back after not providing the goods or services that was agreed on. Very poor business. I love the location of this Chipotle, but I have started to go to the one on Holt road just because this one isn’t reliable. In the last month i have had 5 bad experiences out of 8 tries and I only went that many time because I liked the people. At the very least they need to not be allowing mobile orders if they can’t fill them. It’s wasting a lot of their customers time to place an order, drive there just to be told they aren’t filling mobile orders or are not open and then to ask the customer to spend even more time to get a refund. I don’t understand how corporate and management think that is going to be considered good customer service.
I wanted a salad the the lady helping me signed because there was no greens on the line and she had to get them. A nice gentlemen went to take over my order and she just waived him to help me and stood at the end. I asked for the vinegarette since I got a salad and again signed because there was none readily available on the line.
And when they finally open late, they still aren’t ready. Somehow the extra time of “prep time” never results in actual prep being done. It’s normal to walk in and see empty pans, no rice ready, no meats finished, veggies still cooking in the back, basically the entire line missing half the ingredients. You end up waiting longer inside even though they just opened late. It’s almost impressive how consistently unprepared they are.
On top of that, the staff always looks like they absolutely hate being there. Zero energy, zero urgency, and often an attitude that makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing them by ordering food. Not rude, necessarily just completely disengaged, annoyed, and unfriendly. Combine that with the constant delays and missing ingredients, and the whole experience feels like a chore.
The saddest part: the food itself is good when they finally have everything ready. But everything leading up to it, the late openings, the unprepared line, the lack of professionalism, completely destroys the experience. I keep hoping the location will improve, but it’s been the same every visit.
If you like Chipotle and value your time (or just want a normal customer experience), go to literally any other location. This one is reliably disappointing.
