I love the decor here; it’s very modern and bright. As for the food, there were so many options on the menu. We were definitely eyeing the fried chicken, but we decided to try something new instead. I ordered the bulgogi, and it was delicious. Another bonus was that the food came out pretty quickly.
Overall, we really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back soon.
This was an exceptionally pleasant surprise! My family has been huge fans of Bonchon, Korean fried chicken for years, so to find a place that’s closer to home was exciting. What’s even more exciting is that this place may surpass Bonchon in many ways.
First, the atmosphere is upscale, with very comfortable seating, great lighting, and fun decor. It feels much nicer than it should.
Service was fast and friendly. The food arrived at our table in less than 10 minutes.
Having only Bonchon to compare to for Korean French chicken, I was pleasantly surprised at Chingu’s recipe. I might give Bonchon a slight edge on flavor, but that would be a matter of personal preference, as Chingu’s wings grew on me with every bite. Chingu’s wings are slightly “brighter” than Bonchon with what seemed like a little citrus twist. They’re perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. The steamed buns were perfection. Everything is priced fairly. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked mouthwateringly delicious, which will compel us to come back several times, I’m sure.
Overall, we are exceptionally happy with our visit, and eagerly look forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu.
We were served by Aim and Ian, who were both incredibly kind and attentive. They checked on us often, kept our drinks full, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their service really made the experience enjoyable!
The atmosphere was lovely — the interior design is beautifully done, and the furniture is high quality. The entire place felt clean and well maintained. We usually go to another spot for Korean chicken, but since it’s quite far from home, we’re thrilled to have found a place nearby that offers comparable dishes. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and generously portioned — definitely more than what many other places are offering these days for a higher price. This will definitely be our new go-to spot!
The only thing worth noting is that they share the space with Kyo Matcha, which can be a bit confusing at first. When you enter from the parking lot, it’s not immediately clear where to go if you’re visiting Kyo. For those looking for Kyo Matcha, it’s located toward the back, past the Chingu/Chi Maek dining area. A small sign or clearer directions at the entrance would be helpful.
They know how to satisfy patrons with an open palette for Korean flavors. I haven’t had a lot of kimchi jjigae but I would go back just for this. Side of rice costs extra.
We were able to try a variety by choosing the seafood fried rice, tteokbokki, shrimp shumai, and danmae korean fried chicken w/ pickled radish on the side. We got the chicken wing + drums combo seeing as that felt like best offer. I loved the flavors and I feel sure want to try their spiciest flavor next time! I really recommend everything besides the tteokbokki as it was only thing I didn’t prefer.
For the service it was honestly the best. Everything came out really fast and hot. The entire service was amazing and they were always there when we needed them. They provided gloves and chopsticks when requested by us as well!
Overall I highly recommend people check this spot out with their friends and family!
When we arrived the night before Thanksgiving, it wasn’t that busy, with only a few other tables. Our server got us settled in. We said that it was our first time, and we got a little help with some of the items. We ended up with an assortment of items: Pork Buns, Fried Chicken Combo, Gesokara (Deep Fried Squid), and Galbi (Grilled Marinated Short Ribs).
The Pork Buns and the Fried Squid came out first. They were both very good. The buns were soft, and the pork belly was tender and fatty. The Fried Squid was amazingly good. Super crispy, spicy but not too hot, and the squid was tender and not overcooked.
Next came the fried chicken and the short ribs. The chicken was very good. Nicely crisp, and the soy garlic sauce was a great touch. The short ribs were a big disappointment. You should know that these are cut differently than what you might be used to. They cut the ribs horizontally, so you essentially have something more like a flat steak with several bones running through it. The issue was not the cut but the tenderness and flavor. They were tough and a bit tasteless. Using the soy garlic sauce from the chicken helped.
The dinner was very good overall. I would order most of the items again, with the big exception of the short ribs. It would also be nice to have some alcoholic drink options, beer or seltzer.
After dinner we went over to the other side where they serve matcha drinks, and I picked one up for her to wrap up the night. We got my wife the brown sugar boba tea with oatmeal milk. There were a few little hiccups from our experience in the dining area, but Wendy made the whole experience worth it. She has such a great attitude, friendly, positive, and easy to talk to. It was nice learning a bit more about Chingu from her.
The Burnsville location is clean, modern, and has a really good vibe overall. We’ll definitely be back again to try other menu options, and that awesome service from Wendy.
We will be back again and often.
