Best hopia baboy in all of San Diego County. Might even be the best in all of Southern California, but I haven’t visited every place that sells hopia baboy just yet. I was disappointed to learn that another hopia place I like didn’t even have pork ingredients in their hopia baboy, which goes against the name, but this is unfortunately commonplace at Filipino bakeries. Since Ching’s primary focus is hopia rather than something else like pandesal or other baked goods, the hopia baboy remains authentic with real lard and no artificial flavors.

The hopiahs are made fresh. They are light and flavorful. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend for you to drop by and try them.

Especially if you visit on the weekends, you’ll be able to find fresh-out-of-the-oven hopia (filipino pastry that reminds me a bit of mooncakes but less sugary) that are simultaneously crisp, crunchy, buttery, and flaky on the outside, with moist and creamy fillings spanning ube (purple yam), pineapple, jackfruit, coconut, sweet onion, and mung bean. The combination of quality, freshness, and breadth of pastries—not to mention, price (<$1 each)—cannot be beat!

If you are looking for freshly baked hopia, this is the place for you. They have the best hopia in town. Hopia baboy is my favorite of them all. But I would definitely come back and try other flavors

Yup I agree and it should be famous. Ching’s do have the best and I mean the best Hopia out here in San Diego. Not a fan at all of eating hopia but as soon as I tried their hopia, it’s game over! The dice ube hopia, oh my gulay! So good, that it kicked me out of my ketosis. That jackfruit tho, also my favorite! Ok fine I lied, all of the flavors are my favorite. Perfect dessert idea to bring for potluck or parties.
