I’ve been going here for nearly a year. I always order the Mongolian beef. It used to be great! A couple months ago they raised their prices of everything, so my Mongolian beef went from $15.15 to $16.25. I’m not rich so that kind of hurt and I wasn’t going as much. Hadn’t been there in a couple of months so I thought I would satisfy my craving. Hate to say it but I think they’re also sacrificing quality as well. The Mongolian beef was so rough I couldn’t even chew it. While chewing it would never get to small bits and when I tried to swallow it, I nearly choked a few times so I just threw it away because I literally couldn’t chew it! Very disappointed in Chinese Wok! I used to love my Mongolian beef!!!

I ordered food from Chinese Wok and ordered in person. It was about a 20-minute wait. I was not happy with the food. I ordered sweet and sour shrimp, and the shrimp was very small, with a ton of bredding in a round shape around it. They look like big onion rings. I got 1 bite of shrimp, and the rest was breading. I had plenty of leftovers because they have generous portions, but it was not good enough to eat again. I may try Chinese Wok again to see if my current experience is not normal for them. However, my initial experience was not good.

We ordered food today, March 6, 2025. Before ordering by phone, we asked for the food to be unsalted. The rice turned out to be very, very salty and we threw everything in the trash! All the food is garbage! You can’t imagine what garbage food tastes like! We were left in a bad mood and without lunch! Do not order food from this restaurant! I do not recommend it! Disgusting taste

Decided to try them cause it’s close to home. Ordered one of their “specialty” dishes the spicy curry beef. It had no taste. The beef fried rice had little to no beef. Spent over $50 on mu families dinner and we threw it all out.

It was bad . We need a good Chinese restaurant here on the East side of Elgin. Got their menu in the mail advertising 30 years in business. So we thought we’d support this business. We ordered King Pao Chicken which was bland with big chunks of vegetables. The pork fried rice had blobs of white dough? or fat? mixed in. It was awful!!!! We ordered other stuff and everything was barely edible. Big sad fail!

The sweet and sour chicken was so unappetizing and disappointing. The taste and texture was off, the chicken tasted old and the breading was too thick, no crunch. I ended up throwing it all away. There were boxes everywhere in the lobby and you can’t see the kitchen. Only plus, the people were nice.
