I made an order here to give them a try, thinking that it’d be similar to the original Chinese Kitchen and man was I wrong. My boyfriend and I ordered the pepper steak and the mandarin chicken. Everything was bland and nasty. On top of not being good, the pepper steak barely had steak in it, both of our rice barely had any shrimp and the boneless chicken was weird cuts of meat. Eggrolls taste frozen. A waste of money.

Wish I could give this place a 5 star but not today. Rice is hard, old no flavor, chicken egg rolls are not good! Boneless chicken was okay! May give it another chance I know it’s just opening.

Let’s not get this confused with Chinese kitchen on Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans Louisiana. This particular place is Chinese kitchen express I can’t say for sure if they’re a sister company or not but the food sure tells you a story this particular Drive-through have a limited menu they do not sell the same eggrolls that Chinese kitchen in New Orleans sells A small chicken type egg roll that taste frozen now the fried chicken wings that I had was very tasty But the shrimp fried rice was horrible dry and burned tasting. Not sure if I will try them again.

The food was just alright, as it definitely is not the pre-Katrina Chinese Kitchen. It all was a bit bland, and I was a little disappointed. It’s drive-thru only, and I waited about an hour in drive-thru.

I was in town for Mardi Gras & decided to give the express a try. 1st issue, the smell around the restaurant was horrible. I didn’t smell it inside, but outside was horrible. To me, the express is nothing like the original. I went on a Monday . I ordered the sweet & sour boneless chicken. An order of shrimp fried rice & two additional egg rolls. The boneless chicken had a fresh smell & taste. Not fresh like, good & fresh. The rice was kinda hard. Possibly it was from the day(s) before. The egg rolls taste old as well..The entire meal was not what I expected. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.
