Ordered the chicken chow mein dinner special with chicken fingers for myself and got… mini pork spare ribs maybe? instead. Rice was soggy and had no flavor and the chicken fingers were also mini sized and mushy. My husband at least got his correct order, General Tso’s chicken which he could barely eat as it was mostly just fried breading, same with the crab rangoons which he describes as terrible and had to spit out. Highly disappointing after waiting over an hour.

Massively disappointing. We ordered pork chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken fried rice for takeout. I don’t even know what to call what we got, but it’s a sad attempt for what we ordered.
Sweet and sour chicken was greasy, overbreaded bites with the sauce in a cup on the side. Pork chow mein was soggy cabbage with nearly no pork, and dried, packaged noodles on the side.
The fried rice was *okay* at best.
It’s as though someone played the “telephone game” to describe Chinese food, and this is the result.
Definitely would have preferred terrible mall food court Chinese food, at least it resembles what you ordered.

The buffet are only available a few days per week, which are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They do not open the buffet on Holiday if the day does not fall in on one of those three days.

The food here is pretty good. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant, but we’ve ordered it through DoorDash many times. As with most restaurants in Dover, the prices are a little high. I will say, they have never messed up my order and sometimes they even throw in some free crab Rangoon a when we order a bunch of food. Overall, better than average and the family enjoys it.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in town! If I’m getting take out, or want the lunch buffet, I’m going to China Yan. I’ve been going to them for years and was heartbroken when they closed the buffet for the pandemic. Now open limited days, I am never disappointed, but the buffet is my favorite. Their pepper chicken is to die for, and their staff are always very kind. If you’re looking for a great family owned Chinese restaurant, China Yan is the place without a doubt!

I am not very big on Chinese buffets, but this place has got to be the best deal in town. Most food at buffets are never fresh, it is stale tasting. This place brings the food out in small batches, it is also fresh, and well seasoned. I love the chicken on a stick, it is seasoned perfectly, sometimes I put it in the hot and sour soup. The options are not enormous, but I wouldn’t expect that, sometimes you have to make a thing smaller so you don’t have to compromise in the areas of freshness. The lady up front is always smiling, I think she knows the product she has for what they are offering is the best in town. Kudos to this place, my brother and I will be back for a quick lunch.

Had a takeout order last nite. Horrible. The Sunday buffet had just closed. We got the picked over leftovers from that buffet it seemed. The egg roll was chewy like it was refried. The ribs were were little bits, ragoons, chewy and dry… I could go on… but it all ended up in the trash.

Yummy fresh food for the buffet which is only opened Friday through Sunday 11-2. The wings are amazing and slightly spicy. Drinks are separate. But hot tea and iced tea and tap water is included

Buffet is NOT worth the almost $12 you have to pay. Half of the bins are always empty and sometimes the food isn’t the best. Not to mention, god forbid you try walking out of the door with a cup of water without someone chasing you down because you have to pay for the cup to leave the building with it. I guess that isn’t covered in the over priced $12 buffet cost.
