Happy and hopping place. In spite of how busy they were during the evening rush – we were seated, got drinks, had our order in and food delivered – all in about 10 minutes. The Mongolian beef and low mien were both very tasty.

The food here is simply outstanding, which is why we always order take out for our family reunions because of the quality and ease of ordering online. You can fine tune every dish to match your specific tastes, whether adding certain vegetables, meat, oil and spice level, and China Wok always gets it right. Walking in to pick up the food immediately gets my hunger going as it smells absolutely DIVINE with all the aromas of food cooking. The kitchen is super clean and the staff are professional and friendly. Best Chinese food that we’ve found and we highly recommend!

This is the best Chinese spot in Palm Desert. You will not be disappointed. From the fresh salads and soups to the Orange Chicken and Vegetable Lo Mein it’s all great. The service is remarkable. I usually grab to go and they’ve only messed up one time and they gave me a refund with out hassle. Imagine that a restaurant that owns their mistakes. Oi WingStop across the street yall can learn something from em. But you’re not really a restaurant are ya Wingy. Sorry I digress. Never a bad meal. Never a bad experience. Never go to City Wok up Country Club it’s trash and flavorless. China Wok is where it’s at. China Wok is the bar and they continue to raise it effortlessly. I’ve eaten there in dining once the service was impeccable and swift. China Wok siempre.

China Wok is a hidden gem that has been delighting locals for years with its consistently excellent Chinese cuisine. Tucked away in an unassuming spot, this restaurant combines a warm, inviting ambiance with a stellar dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more. Whether you’re craving classic dishes like General Tso’s Chicken or something more adventurous like the Chef’s Special Lobster, the extensive menu has something for everyone, ensuring a satisfying visit every time.

The service at China Wok is as exceptional as the food. The staff is attentive and friendly, always ready with helpful recommendations or a cheerful smile. Your meal arrives promptly, yet nothing feels rushed, allowing you to relax and enjoy the flavorful dishes in a low-key, comfortable setting. This seamless blend of efficiency and hospitality creates an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and professional.

Be sure to bring your appetite because the portion sizes at China Wok are famously generous. Whether you opt for a steaming bowl of wonton soup or a heaping plate of fried rice, you’ll be treated to enough food to share—or to take home for a second meal. For those seeking delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxed environment, China Wok is a restaurant you’ll want to return to time and time again.

Soooo… I apparently downloaded the wrong “Wok” app. I placed my order, got a text confirming it was received and very promptly after that got the text saying it was ready for pick up. (Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they had it ready.) I drove across town to pick it up only to discover MY mistake, I ordered from the wrong Wok. I needed Big Wok, not China Wok. Feeling like a complete idiot I wanted to call and let them know I wouldn’t be picking it up because I’m in Texas and they were in CALIFORNIA! I had no expectation that I would get my money back, it was my fault, I didn’t even ASK for a refund because they shouldn’t have to eat the cost of my mistake. I really just called to confirm that I had actually ordered takeout from a restaurant in California and maybe they could salvage at least some of it. I got the kindest woman on the phone who was just as shocked as I was with the situation. I told her I just wanted to let them know I wouldn’t be in to pick it up so they could possibly do something with it the food. And then SHE asked me if I was getting a refund. I told her I had no expectations of a refund, it was MY mistake not theirs and I didn’t expect a refund. Then SHE said, let me talk to my manager and I’ll call you back. And she did in fact call me back and tell me I would be getting a refund. THAT my friends is how you do CUSTOMER SERVICE THE RIGHT WAY!! They would have been totally justified in not issuing a refund and I didn’t even to ask for it. They didn’t hesitate to take care of a customer who was never going to order from them again. If they will do that for a for sure non-repeat customer, I have no doubt they take very good care of their actual paying customers. I didn’t get to taste the food, ‍♀️ but their customer service is next level. Did I mention how kind the woman on the phone was??

Thus us good place to eat !! MY ONLY COMPLAINT would be when ordering ANY dish that has Asparagus in it think twice before ordering! Four different times I’ve ordered asparagus with shrimp, asparagus with chicken and asparagus with beef!! EVERY TIME it comes with old asparagus! It’s soo old you can’t even chew it! It’s an excellent dish if you can get it with FRESH ASPARAGUS! So far the 12/15 times we’ve been there it has been good food and service has been good!

This restaurant has lots of tasty food options. The menu is expansive and the foods cone in big portions that are 100% worth their price. Our server was very respectful and made sure that we enjoyed our time and the food during our stay. This restaurant is great for families, especially with their tasty dishes! Will return!

Yummy food here, great servers, and clean inside dining. Our server was Kristina and she was working very hard to make sure we had our food fresh off the grill. We will return. This is a child and family friendly restaurant.

I decided to give China Wok another chance today after avoiding it for several months due to a noticeable decline in food quality. On my way home, I picked up an order of shrimp egg foo young and fried rice.

As I drove, my car filled with the unpleasant odor of burnt food. I dismissed it as a lingering smell from the restaurant, but I was wrong. When I opened the container at home, the egg foo young was severely burnt—so much so that the onions were charred and crispy.

I called the restaurant to address the issue, but the cook denied the food was burnt, and the cashier hung up on me when I insisted it was. Unfortunately, I had paid in cash, so there’s no way to dispute the charge.

If you choose to order from China Wok, I strongly recommend checking your food before leaving. This experience confirmed my decision to avoid this restaurant going forward, as both the food quality and customer service have deteriorated significantly.

We love this place! Our standard meals are the orange beef, the chicken chow fun and the honey walnut shrimp. Occasionally we’ll order the sweet and sour soup. Dine in or take out, it’s all good stuff – but we really enjoy our favorites.
