Pleasantly surprised – don’t let the old reviews fool you (different ownership then).
The BEST Chinese buffet I’ve had in years. Food was fresh and authentic. They even keep their wonton separate from the broth – which is a great idea! Only criticism was the fried banana slices left some banana taste in the oil I guess and made the eggrolls a little odd.

Just so so. Some of the food is good some of it was bad. I enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken. The wonton soup was missing any wontons. But the service was bad. From the moment we walked in the door they were yelling at us across the room how many? The waitress didn’t smile not one single time and filled to bring the check after we were clearly done.

Been here a few times and the food has been ok , only problem is the lady that sits you is very rude ! She likes standing beside us while we are eating and want stop watching us eat , tries taking our plate before we are even finish . It’s every time we have gone here . Just really makes you feel uncomfortable and like we are supposed to hurry up and leave! Don’t know if she knows but it is rude to keep staring at people ! And this time the food wasn’t good at all , almost like some of it was made and left over the day before . Just not happy at all and main reason we will not return here is that rude , no manner lady that just can’t keep her eyes to herself!

This place has amazing food for a buffet. One of the best. Fair priced too. Only reason I’m giving 3 stars is the waitress we got, was very hateful and rude to us. She didn’t give us a fortune cookie, no refills, and told everyone else happy new year and then charged us extra for our plates. This alone makes me not want to come back.

Food just keeps getting worse , nasty inside, rude employees, been 5 or 6 times and has gotten worse . We have gotten the same waiter Everytime we have been and she likes standing beside our table watching us eat , makes us feel really uncomfortable! Takes our plate before we are finished . Watches us while we are paying and has we walk out the door. Don’t know if she knows but staring is rude ! The last time we was there was the last time we will be back there !

Nasty,cold, slop. Id rather eat my own puke than this eat at this place. I admit that when this place first opened from being in that tiny building on the side that this place was great, I could have ate here every day, but after that first year mile stone there food starting going down hill and fast. The biggest mistake I EVER made was going here about 4 hours before closing.. there was NOT a single person in there other than my family and there was maybe 10 things on the buffet. They wanted us to pay before we sat down and now I know why. We all sat there waiting on them to bring out more food, but that never happened. About 10 minutes after being there and starting to eat whatever was available two people came out with a mop and a 5 gallon bucket of what smelled like pure bleach.. if there was any water in it I would be surprised, because I felt high from smelling it and my daughter refused to eat, said she felt sick. It was ridiculous, so we asked for our money back and they REFUSED…they wouldn’t even give us 10% off or anything. Last time there and I will rot in my grave before I EVER thin of going back here…a cold day in hell before that will happen.

This place use to be really good. However, last night I ordered takeout, and the food was dry like they had got it right off the bar. Plus the shrimp sauce tasted like ketchup, mayonnaise, and sugar mixed together. My husband also said the lady who worked up front was rude to him. I love the China Wok in Burnsville, so I suggest that one goes there other than being truly disappointed in Spruce Pine!!

The food was delicious! They have a great variety of food, Chinese and American. Great for children. The only reason I’m not giving 5 star is because of the guy at the register. He was not pleasant at all, and seemed very upset. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Family and friends love this place. We enjoyed our food but it’s best to go earlier in the day instead of around 9 like we did. When they’re ready to close all the food disappears but you can’t blame them.
