I’ve ordered takeout and delivery from China Star 2 for many years. I’ve also dined in occasionally. The food is always fresh, with generous portions of each dish ordered. It’s my favorite Chinese restaurant in Henry County. You can still call and order delivery instead of using a delivery service. The food always arrives hot and fresh.

I normally don’t leave reviews, however, I am compelled to do so. I ordered the chicken fried rice and OMG, and it was the worst fried rice ever tasted. The rice was hard and the chicken was little chunks of brick (HARD AS HELL). The fried rice scooped on to my fork as chunks,wirh no consistency. The seasoning was in no way authentic Chinese season. In the fried rice was very little vegetables. On the real I don’t think the chicken was real chicken or it was old as hell. I repeat do not get the fried rice, you will be very disappointed.

My family recommended we have China Star for dinner. Currently they only have carry out and delivery. We chose to do take out. I went to their location and placed our order. The staff person told me it would take 20 minutes. It took closer to 40 minutes. As I waited, I witnessed how busy they were with new orders and completing previous orders. To me that was a great sign. A restaurant being busy because the food is good is always a great sign. The food was made fresh and was still hot when I returned home. Overall the food was good, the order was correct, and we were all satisfied with the portion sizes (which was large and we could have shared). I recommend China Star.

The food is good but $24 for a ten-piece lemon pepper with shrimp fried rice is a bit overpriced!! On top of that the Asian lady at the front counter is very stingy with duck sauce. She will place two packs in the bag and tie it up so that you don’t notice. If I pay $24 for a 10-piece there should be no problem giving me extra duck sauce if I ask.

I ordered take out a week ago from here and the wings were lemon pepper and buffalo. They were delicious. They were crispy and cooked without a batter and the lemon pepper were seasoned to perfection and the buffalo wings were drenched in a delicious sauce. The veg lo mein was very good. Fast forward one week and I ordered the wings and lo mein again but a larger amount since I knew how good they were. WRONG…they were awful. The wings were cooked in a batter and the lemon pepper was non existent. The lemon pepper wings were just greasy fried wings. The buffalo ones were a soggy bunch of flour battered wings with a faint hot sauce flavor on the soggy skin. The veggie lo mein had very few noodles and mostly veggies with very little sauce. You would expect the food to be prepared the same each time but not so. I spent over 90 dollars and was told no when I asked to return the food . They did not offer to cook again and they put the wrong sauce with another dish I had ordered. Worst experience and customer service. I thought I had found my favorite Chinese restaurant but I was sadly wrong. They obviously use different chefs who cook everything their own way. Will not ever return. Consistency is cooking is not at this place.
