I’ve had China Pearl twice now, and both times I ordered the orange chicken with shrimp fried rice. The food is consistently delicious, and the portions are absolutely massive—they stuff the to-go boxes to the brim. Easily three meals in one.
This is a takeout-only restaurant. There’s no dining room, so it’s not your typical sit-down Chinese place. It’s strictly pick-up and go. The first time I ordered, someone else picked it up for me, so I didn’t see the place. On my second visit, I went inside—it’s a small, mom-and-pop style setup with a straightforward takeout counter and friendly staff.
The orange chicken is packed with flavor, and the shrimp fried rice is excellent. They use full-size shrimp, not the tiny chopped ones—these were about the size of a quarter, maybe baby prawns, and they were cooked perfectly. It really elevated the dish beyond your usual takeout expectations.

Very disappointed to say the least. First of all, we ordered dark meat, chicken extra chicken on top of that, Well, when we get home, none of it’s right the food is freezing cold which I don’t know why we picked it up early. I called up there and right away The lady has an attitude problem And she told me they aren’t gonna do anything about it that I needed to just deal with it. I will never return and I will make sure to tell everybody how shitty this place was. There’s a way better place in Slidell anyway I don’t know why I even wasted my time. And my bank went ahead and disputed my charge since y’all wouldn’t do anything!!! I sent proof of my messed up order! Go ahead and have fun with that $40. Y’all aren’t gonna have now.!!!

Best Chinese food around!
First really cold day (41° at 2pm!), and I NEEDED soup!
The picture doesn’t do it justice. It is loaded with veggies, and the broth is sooo good!
I also decided to try the Chicken on a Stick appetizer. Appetizer? Uh, no!
More like a meal!!! It was deliciously grilled with little crispy edges from the marinade!!! Heaven!!!
Plus, I also have leftovers for dinner!
And, as always, the owners and staff (Hi, Tiah!) are awesome!

Didn’t catch her name but the lady who helped me and took my order was very sweet and respectful and everything went smoothly as far as service and atmosphere.
Food was fantastic, definitely will return, my ONLY negative is the portions are a bit small compared to other places for the price it was but the taste definitely made up for it!

It’s take -out and has an unbelievable business with loyal customers. It’s set back from the highway, so it doesn’t get much walk-in business, but it doesn’t need it. The food is fabulous and at very reasonable prices. I happened to be passing by on my way home from work, and impulsively stopped in to get a couple of egg rolls. WOW. Nice sized and HOMEMADE. I stop regularly now.

After driving nearly 20 minutes to go in and order, we find out it’s CASH ONLY. Looks like we’ll never find out if the food is worth the high prices on the menu.
UPDATE: I find the reply from the cash only owner to be incredibly rude. It’s best that I, my friends and family stay away from places like this.
And to reply to the owner, you didn’t get a 1 star review because I didn’t have cash, but because you don’t accept personal checks, cashier’s checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Venmo, Monero, Bitcoin or any other popular payment methods. I can understand only accepting cash for tax reasons, but it’s not professional to blame your shortcomings on a potential customer.

Food is good but I got home and there was no sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour pork. Tried to call but call went to voice and box was full! So disappointing.
I was able to call when they opened the next day and got a replacement meal. Satisfied now, they serve plenty of food in the to go box.

Just Me
I think they are burned out. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not so good. A sign that someone is tired of their job. I got home and had salsa hot sause, when I order hot mustard. i was very angry, that I didn’t have what I ordered. The difference of enjoying my meal and just eating it. For my $25.00 meal, I expect to enjoy it. Every one brags that it is a lot of food, but it is priced right for a piece of chicken and a lot of rice. I am not going back. I will drive to Yees.
