I remember when they first opened up. We frequented it for years until we moved a little too far away to go regularly. I went back just recently and was happy to find the quality was still really, really good. The atmosphere seems to have become slightly less fancy compared to when it opened, but the food hasn’t changed. Friendly staff, dishes are priced fair for the Bethesda market.

I eat here usually once a week and even when I’m running late for my weekly appointment in the building across the parking lot, I can rely on China Pavilion for a quick meal at a reasonable price. The people who work there are really friendly. I’m a regular, and they always remember my usual meal.

Want a headline ? STAY AWAY!!!!!
I ordered the beef broccoli with rice and it tasted extremely ‘NOTHING’ . The chix and beef combo was somewhat ok but way below Chinese food taste standards. No flavor it felt like licking a piece of printer paper. If I could give this place a NO star it would be IDEAL. I spend money today for Chinese food and there was no taste I ended up throwing both dish away and I’m the type of person who actually eats EVERYTHING. I think they are not getting rid of bad quality food and just putting it up for sale. Lastly the fortune cookie tasted like if it was stored 2 decades ago. I know how fortune cookies taste and trust me on this one.
STAY AWAY! This is my first time writing a review on this platform I have never used yelp or anything else, today this place OPENED MY EYES!

Very disappointing. Ordered spring rolls to find I’d received a single shrimp roll. Chicken in yellow curry featured clearly frozen, cubed carrots and peas in a bland sauce devoid of curry. “General” chicken was heavily breaded, gristly lumps of chicken artlessly prepared. Avoid this place.

Appetizers (crab rangoon and shrimp toast) were quite good, but the entree, sesame beef, was so sugary it should have been dessert. Delivery was quick.

Visited for the 1st time and had two items Veggie Fried Rice and Veggie Dumplings…the quality of the dumplings was not good nor was the fried rice which was more like white rices rolled in hot soy sauce with SOME but not many peas and carrots (of course frozen food section peas and carrots), a few bits of baby corn, a few bean sprouts and some pieces of egg…not one piece of average size vegetable was in the product such as A decent broccoli floret…for the price I have had much better at a number of places when it comes to vegetable only fried rice…none of it was worthy the money…eat somewhere else.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Ask for my Curry extra spicy and it came out just the way I like it.

Fine local store. Food is a little uneven. Management seems to have changed. But reliable.
