Let me start by saying this is not a reflection of our waitresses, they were great. They stayed calm, professional, and kind throughout.
We came here to celebrate my son’s birthday. He loves chow mein, so we ordered a bunch of dishes thinking the portions would be similar to every other Chinese restaurant, family-style or at least sharable. What we got was shockingly small for what we paid. The chow mein plate alone was $16 and barely enough to feed one person.
When we asked about the portion size, the waitress (again, doing her best) took it to the kitchen. She came back and told us the cook refused to make more or fix the dish because he was overwhelmed. Seriously? We’re paying $16–$20 per plate, and the response is “too bad”? At first, they only offered $5 off the chow mein, which felt like a slap in the face, but eventually, they did take it off the bill entirely. Which we appreciated.
We ordered five entrees and two appetizers for two adults and three kids, and it was barely enough food. We left frustrated, and honestly a little embarrassed because we were trying to celebrate a special occasion.
Again, the service was the only thing that saved this from being a one-star review. But unless something changes with the kitchen and portion sizes, we won’t be back. It’s just not worth the price.
FYI – The photo is the untouched Chow Mein plate we received.

So far this is the best Asian food i have found here in the Boise area with fas friendly service…..The food it self was better than most I have had here in Eagle, Boise, Meridian area the service was excellent cold beers & hot saki . The place is clean and inviting. We went for dinner at China Palace Fine Dining.
The service was good. Our waitress was really sweet and kind.
The food was good but so greasy.
If the food wasn’t so greasy, I’d give them a higher rating.
The building is okay, and the decor is basic, nothing special. The bench I sat in was broken down, and I felt like I was sitting in a hole.
They serve beer and wine. I got some Saki, it wasn’t hot, barley warm. My hubby had a Chinese beer. He said it was better good.
We will come back and try other dishes, hoping not so much grease. Again, the staff is really good and helpful.

The food here was amazing! I had the combo plate with chow mein, egg foo young, and an egg roll, while my wife got rice, sweet and sour pork, and fried wontons. Everything was spot on—exactly what you want from classic, old-school Chinese food. I’ve been searching all over the Treasure Valley for a decent Chinese restaurant and finally stumbled onto China Palace. The atmosphere is simple and no-frills, the service was good, and the food really delivered. If you’re looking for a hidden gem, this is definitely the spot!

The husband and I always try to find good local Chinese food joints where ever we end up during our travels and this place did not disappoint! We struggled to find a good place in the Boise area but finally stumbled upon this little gem out in Eagle. We ordered General Tso, pork fried rice, crab rangoon, pot stickers, their orange chicken daily special and their seafood chowmein.
The portions were as expected, everything tasted great and their pot stickers are made fresh daily which is a huge selling point for us. We’ve only ever found that once in the Portland area so based off of that alone we will be back!
There were two female’s working at the time, both very nice and knowledgeable about their menu and the establishment as a whole. Apparently this place has been in business for over 30 years so obviously they are doing something right. No online ordering offered, they are old school which some people still appreciate. I didn’t take any pictures of our food because we ate it too fast but I will next time =)

The food is greasy, heavy and bland. I ordered dinner for a family of four. And 70% got tossed in the trash. The pork fried rice is good but still oily. For $70.00 without drinks I’ll probably go somewhere else.

The food is practically flavorless. We ordered sesame chicken. It came as one carton of fried chicken thighs breaded and sliced into strips and one carton of saucy veggies. It was nothing like the spicy and sweet sesame chicken you get at any other Chinese food restaurant across the country. When we opened the cartons we thought we must have received the wrong order and called to confirm that is was indeed the correct order but just not what was expected. The amount of rice included is also very tiny compared to the chicken. And packed so tight into the tiny container it has turned gummy. We also ordered potstickers and they were lacking in flavor.

China palace is my favorite Chinese food place of all time. I recommend it to all my friends and clients. Always good, everything is made to order, service is always friendly. Long live china palace may it never go out of buisness.

Mmmmm, everything here is amazing. It’s one of those places where no matter what you order, it’ll be amazing! The food even re-heats VERY well for leftovers later. The owner is very nice and she also sells a variety of plants at the front which I love! Because my mom loves her plants and Chinese, so I’ll take my mom here and then surprise her with a beautiful plant after dinner! Employees are amazing, they hire our veterans too which is nice. Tell “castle” (one of their servers) Sharpie says hi! I posted 2 pics. Check out their generals taos chicken and egg rolls, their crab rangoon is to die for too!
