Got the “combination I” wanting some chow main and some sweet and sour pork. Neither hit the spot. The chicken chow mein is like a thick soup that comes with a packet of grocery store fried noodles, like most restaurants give you for free with soup. Super bland flavor and like 3 small pieces of chicken resting on top of the liquid. The pork was fried and was decent but there was 4 small fried pieces 1 of which was all tendon and bone. Again super bland sauce. The rice was PLENTIFUL. But again just no flavor. It was fried but had nothing in it to bring flavor and tasted like slightly oily steamed rice. I feel bad writing such a brutal review. The woman at the front was decently nice. But honestly each individual good item was one of the worst like it I’ve ever had. Credit where it is due: the food was very hot and fresh.

I got a #12 lunch special and an order of the steamed dumplings. Cost came out to just under $19. The amount of food I got was a ton! Definitely worth the $$.
The dumplings were by far the best I have had. Huge size and tasted great!
Not a fan of the egg roll. It tasted like it had been rolled in sugar prior to being deep fried. Came off pretty sweet.
The sesame chicken was good. Really liked the coating on the chicken. Sauce was ok. Not super spicy but chicken was a little dry.
Nothing special about the fried rice. It’s like they just put white rice in the wok with some soy sauce and an egg. No real taste. Would be better if they put just a couple of peas or carrots with some seasonings.
I will go back just for the dumplings!!

This place used to be one of my favorites. I’m not sure if the pandemic messed them up or what (along with the rest of the world which I understand). The quality is not there anymore and it’s quite disappointing. I paid $41.01 ($36.01 + $5.00 tip). I got the sesame chicken, large chicken chow mein, and wontons. The chow mein is good, usually always is. The little chicken nuggets that come in the sesame were just straight breading and they were ginormous?? They used to be at least bite size. There was also barely any sauce in the container after I poured the nuggets onto my plate. There’s usually a good amount to at least drizzle on the dry nuggets for everyone’s plate. The wontons are also smaller than the sesame chicken pieces which doesn’t make any sense to me. I used to love this place a lot but I don’t believe I’ll be going back :/ I’ve added photos including a large fork for scale.

The hostess was really friendly, and the food was genuinely delicious, especially the orange chicken. I previously left a negative review, and since that review, this place has absolutely improved I am for sure coming here again!!

We love China Palace! When we lived just down the road it was our go-to spot and even now that we live 20 minutes away we still trek up there whenever we’re craving Chinese! Their egg rolls are my favorite in the Metro area. They only do take out and delivery now, just FYI.
