DEF NOT a Russian Spi
So, my Husband and I came here because we both really wanted Chinese food for lunch but didn’t want to wait for Kentucky because we were still an Hour out or so.
Long story short… we should have waited.
I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews. I really don’t. I feel sad and like a miserable person when I do. However I would really just like to Tell the truth.
We ordered $86.00 worth of “Food”. I have NEVER not finished a General Tsos chicken meal IN MY LIFE. My Husband ordered Lo- Mein…. Didn’t eat his EVEN! I have NEVER, EVER seen my Husband NOT eat his Lo- Mein.
The sauce with the General Tsos was not spicy, but tasteless. And the Chicken was… Weird. It was like Crispy Chicken, but hard in some spots but then tasted like Dry, and Overcooked but still, chewy and tasteless.
(I’m so sorry to leave this Bad review. I really am)
The Cheese Wontons were Great!! The Sweet and Sour Chicken was Great as Well!! The Vegetable Fried Rice was delicious!!
The spring rolls were…. okay.
The prices… Eh. Not Great. That’s part of the reason why we stopped… but then when we got here it was a different story.
The girl at the counter was little… I don’t know the word for it… Off-Put?
We didn’t know how to feel. The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side. They DO have Highchairs, and a bathroom. I did not go in the bathroom. The place isn’t really for eating in…. If you do, they don’t really have A/C. So my Husband and I were sweating bullets lol.
I think next time, my Hubby and I will just wait until Middlesboro…
But thank you, anyways and again… I’m Sorry.
My Recommendations:
-The cheese wontons, sweet and sour chicken and vegetable fried rice- if You have to eat something.
– DON’T eat inside… no Air Conditioning and it’s very HOT.
-Look at the updated price list, not the old one! I posted one in the pictures!

-Cheese Wontons, Vegetable Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour chicken
-Good parking
-Nice spot next to food city in the little “strip mall”
-Highchairs
Cons:
-Taste of Certain Foods.
-General Tsos and Lo Mein
-Off put attitudes (can’t really put my finger on it) like almost Impatient?!?

First time to this restaurant. Located in a group of stores. Was easy to find and plenty of parking. Food was very good, proportions were amazing. Eat in area is rather small. We were fortunate and got a table. Very clean inside. Staff was great.

They have no childrens portions or kids menu. They are rude when you want to change something in an order. There was no pleasantries. Just sad they are the only Chinese restaurant in maynardville. I would go anywhere else if there was something close.

I just recently moved to town, and was shopping at the nearby Food City for my first round of supplies at my new joint. Walking out, I looked to my left and saw a non-descript door in a small strip mall-esque joint called China One.
I walked in. On the walls were various pictures of your typical menu items, and a menu on the counter with about 100 options.
I placed a very basic order. Sweet and sour chicken with rice. It was prepared fresh, cooked nice and hot, and I kid you not… was about 3 lbs of food for $14. Easily two meals, if not three.
The staff was great. They had their kids there doin homework and playin games at one of the tables, which I absolutely respect. Said hi to everyone, and they sent me on my way with a huge bag of food.
Arriving home, and digging into the goods… I was satiated and happy. I look forward to trying something different every time I come headed into the future.

This had so much potential but was completely ruined by the overly sweet taste to absolutely everything ordered. The chicken was so dry it was hard and that’s saying a lot since it was swimming in a sweet brown sauce. The broccoli was fresh and crisp, but the sweet sauce really ruined it. Even the rice was sweet? The poor egg drop soup was so thick and bland at the same time. I really wanted to like this place and support a small business but it was just a big disappointment. I hope this experience was a fluke, but judging by the other reviews i believe this is the normal.

It was lunch time so my meal shouldn’t have been more than $25 for 2 people and it was take out, unfortunately I was in a hurry and didn’t notice they charged me double and I didn’t receive a receipt so no way to dispute this. The food wasn’t very tasty and the rice was literally steamed rice with soy sauce. No eggs or any other additional things in the rice. Very bland and watered down entrée and didn’t taste like chicken teriyaki at all. I can’t rate the atmosphere because I ran in and out.
