My wife and I moved out of Howell a few years ago and we always frequented China Moon. The other night it we were getting home late and we were wondering if they were still open. We got there right before closing and they told me I could have called ahead and they would have waited for me. What wonderful service and the food was still as delicious as years ago!!

China Moon is a hidden gem in Howell. Maybe it isn’t so hidden since the place was packed for take out orders. The general tso’s chicken was crunchy and not overally spicy. The pork fried rice was also solid. The food overall was good. This may be my go to spot in the area.

My family has been ordering from China Moon for years. The family that owns it is friendly and always remembers their long-time customers. For instance, I began eating their food prior to the many food allergies I have developed in the last 12 years. During the time of developing all of them, I wondered if I could safely eat Chinese food ever again from their establishment or any others locally and they were the only one willing to accommodate my dietary needs. They are very caring. They have told me to bring my bottle of coconut aminos so they can cook my specific food in it or they use their white sauce, which is fantastic. There has been some human error over the years of ordering from China Moon like receiving one wrong item simply because of them being so busy and accidentally placing the wrong container into my family’s order bag as opposed to where it should have gone. They have always been quick to rectify any issues in my experience though. As long as you respectfully communicate with them, they return that respect and fix the issue at hand. China Moon is a terrific family-owned Chinese restaurant with great food and fair pricing.

I live in Jackson NJ and frankly … there is no good food, especially chinese, in Jackson. I was referred to China Moon by a good friend and man i have to give credit to these people. The food is the best ive had short of Peking Pavillion. Whether you believe in the COVID-19 hoax or not, you have to give respect to how they are conducting their service. The take every precaution you could ask for and their directions are clear and concise. The professionalism from the madam i spoke with on the phone was service you just dont find at places like this. Very happy with the food and probably even happier with the respect and service given. Highly recommend this is now my official go to chinese place

Had the chicken and broccoli, was very good nice cuts of chicken. Rice was nice and moist not under cooked. Wonton wasn’t bad either. Also a big plus, the staff were super nice.

Ok like another post I read no good Chinese in Jackson. Very true. We order online about a month ago it it was amazing the best We had anywhere asked for extra spicy and it was. Tried again 2 nights ago spent $127 and the only thing good was the spare ribs, the soup and egg rolls. Gens chi was so dried out it was like leather balls, horrible, shrimp with lobster sauce was like a salt lick and had no ground pork in it.
Seafood lo mien was old tasting like it sat in the walk in fridge for days not fresh at all also had shrimp chow mien had no flavor what’s so ever it all must have went into the the shrimp and lobster sauce. Order house fried rice. All dried out and tasted again like refrigerator in a non covered container. The worst food ever.
How can these places be so inconsistent??? Is there a different cook on different days. It was a Thursday and not busy. So I won’t take another chance not at $127 real shame. I didn’t complain and I should have taken it all back but it was late and we were super hung so we tried to doctor it up but to no avail, you can make what taste old fresh. Save your money band try and find another place

First and last time buying food from here. When walking in the front door, you are greeted with a used mop and bucket…kind of ruins one’s appetite. The young guy helping hand out the bags of food was very nice however, the food quality was pretty bad. The shrimp were gritty, fried rice tasteless, wonton soup-4 wontons-also blah. Egg roll was ok. Prices do not reflect the quality or quantity. Very skimpy portions. Quite a disappointment, to say the least.

My husband cooked seafood for us but we needed a side and ordered shrimp fried rice. It was the best most flavorful fried rice either of us have ever had in our nearly 70 yrs. We will be trying a few others items next time. If it’s as good as the fried rice China Moon will be a weekly regular.

To start on China Moon, they literally have over a hundred options, so they’re with trying at least twice to cover the variety they offer. And that’s only if you didn’t already love them after the first time. The food is absolutely incredible. Their flavor is full enough that you can actually taste the ingredients themselves. Compared to most other Asian restaurants, that is a blessed change to not merely taste a single overpowering component of a dish. They are also extremely affordable. Their combos are a perfect meal without breaking the bank, and their regular entrees give you a lot of bang for your buck. Interior wise, they are also a very clean restaurant. There was not a speck on the tables or counters. Also, I forgot to even order ahead as recommended, but my order was still prepared swiftly. Overall it’s a fantastic place for any Chinese food lover regardless of price range. They will definitely be seeing me and my family again.

I came to this place because of the name. There was a “China Moon” (Fanwood, NJ) that I used to order from, when I lived in Somerset County. Their food was about as good as you can get. The family and I are originally from the Bronx. There was none better! Fanwood’s China Moon is tops for Somerset County. China Moon, in Howell can definitely hang with Chinese Food found in the Bronx. The Staff and Service was also top notch! If you ever find yourself in Howell and wanting Chinese Food, look no further than China Moon!!!
