I’ve been a loyal customer of the downtown China Master for a long time, and I was really glad to see they’ve opened a new location. The food here is just as tasty and authentic as the original spot—generous portions, great flavors, and always consistent quality. The new branch is clean, bright, and welcoming, with plenty of seating and a comfortable atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better.
It’s exciting to see China Master growing, and I’ll definitely be visiting both locations regularly!
Strongly recommend my favorite dishes: Combination Fried Rice and Sesame Chicken. You must try it!!!

I eat chinese at least once a week. Wanting to try something different, I found this place. While it’s not made to order (unless you ask), it’s a cafeteria style service. They give a HUGE amount of food and with a smile. I was in and out in about 2 minutes. I ordered a mix of sesame chicken and general Tso’s. You can get rice, noodles, or a mix. The food was very good and in fact, I made 3 meals out of it. The combo was $10.99 tax and all. For 3 meals, it’s cheaper than McDonalds! It will definitely be in my regular rotation.

I was standing on the overlook of Ruffner Mtn when I saw the signal fires were lit. I could tell by the smell in the air and the MSG dissipating through the veins of my local strip mall that the bells had rung and the good news was delivered. A China master has arrived in Irondale. What to expect? Nothing but banging food that you can get in 30 seconds. It’s like a NYC pizza slice shop but for Chinese MSG goodness. Take it from me, get the black pepper chicken. If you don’t go here you need to fix that. Praise the master. I will not rest until there is a China master in every strip mall in our beautiful god-blessed country. This is what it means to be American.

Overall, this place is awful. You can place a simple order (say, fried rice with no meat, no onions, and extra egg), and you will receive fried rice with three kinds of meat, onions (as well as peas–why?!), and no visible egg at all. Furthermore, the staff will make you feel like a freak for asking for something like this. I don’t believe any of their food is fresh, so special requests are verboten. You get what they happen to have on the stove at the time, and if you don’t like it you can lump it.
I’m giving two stars because their Hunan tofu is actually pretty decent, as long as you don’t eat the rice. If you insist on going here for some reason, order that.

I’ve had delivery from this new location a few times and every time it’s delicious and the portions are generous. The combo platter #1, hot and sour soup and eggrolls are the ultimate cold weather comfort food. I think this restaurant gets better with each order. Very happy they opened!!

Delicious and very generous portions for the price. If you’re craving typical American-style Chinese – this is THE place. Chicken fried rice, noodles, and teriyaki chicken are all perfect. Staff is kind and theres plenty of seating inside.

I’d say this is one of B’hams best Chinese take-out spots. Consistently tasty food that’s quality, nice sized portions. Whenever I’ve ordered from here, everything looked & tasted fresh. Warm, friendly customer service too.
